Mrs. Freeze is Real, Coming to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Next Week
That Mrs. Freeze rumor from a couple of months ago has just been confirmed. If you don’t remember, an image – which was since copyright-stricken, an indication of its accuracy – of what people were saying was an alternate universe version of Batman villain Mr. Freeze that would debut in season 2 of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League made the internet rounds. Today, developer Rocksteady released a detailed account of what the character would be like on the game’s official website, including some gameplay footage. Mrs. Freeze is on her way when season 2 of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on July 25, 2024, and this is how Rocksteady describes her:
“Victoria Frias is an ice-cold, self-sufficient survivalist who has watched her Elseworld turn to ice as Brainiac’s invasion took hold. By the time we meet her in Season 2, she has spent years as the last holdout of her dying planet, unwilling to leave her cryogenically frozen wife behind. But after being recruited by the Squad, she may have the chance to save her – and unleash icy hell.”
I assume “Frias” is a typo, and Rocksteady meant “Fries,” but maybe I shouldn’t jump to positive conclusions. At any rate, does this sound like parody to anyone else? “Put a chick in it, make her gay” was supposed to be a joke, not a dare. Not that I’m saying it’s a great idea, but if they wanted to do a gender-swapped multiverse Mr. Freeze, they could have simply made Nora Fries their Mrs. Freeze, with her trying to cure Victor instead of the other way around. They’re also including “Killer Frost Infamy Gear,” weapons and gear based on another DC ice villain, Killer Frost; this begs the question of why, if they wanted a woman as the ice villain, they didn’t simply use Killer Frost, but we know the answer to that. As a bonus kick in the pants, Mrs. Freeze has a build called “Mrs. Burn” that utilizes Firefly’s gear so they can effectively turn another male villain into a female.
And dear God, you have to see how they decked out the other DC characters to deal with the ice world:

The characters just look like crap now in general. Where is the pride in putting out something that looks good.
I am NOT into the gender swapping at all, but will say this, that Pinterest has entire sections of different characters of all kinds of different swaps, but you can see it’s just for fun and to see possibilities and they actually look good.
On Pinterest, it’s for creative fun, but the hacks in corporate use it as a psyop tool. Regardless, the character looks like crap. Elsa from Frozen is already out there, and so is the White Witch of Narnia. There are already female ice characters.
