Netflix has officially decided on a price and release window for its with-ads plan. This new, lower tier will offer the same content with a lower price point subsidized by ad partners. This new option will be available starting November 3rd for $6.99/month, a dollar lower than competitors Disney+ and Hulu with-ads. Consumers should be aware that this lower-priced package won’t allow downloading the content, and some movies and shows will be unavailable at least in the beginning on this tier due to licensing issues.
I was going to switch to the ads plan, but losing access to some of the content doesn’t sound good. I also sometimes need to download things, although I prefer to watch them on the TV at home.
