Zack Snyder has undone some damage. Vanity Fair has released some pictures of Jared Leto as the Joker from the upcoming Snyder Cut of Justice League, which Warner Bros. – and no one else on Earth – is calling Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Gone are the tattoos and mouth grill from Leto’s portrayal of the infamous Batman villain in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad; this version has the classic clown white skin, as well as wild, unkempt hair that contrasts with the slicked-back look from the previous film. There are also some quotes from Zack Snyder in the Vanity Fair article about how the Joker fits into his new cut of Justice League. While I won’t get into the spoilers, Snyder talks about the backstory he’d envisioned for the Joker when he made Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. He also discusses how he would have brought the Clown Prince of Crime into his world down the line, something he likely won’t get to do now. You can check out those Jared Leto Joker pictures from Vanity Fair below:
When Zack Snyder first announced that he’d be adding the Joker to his finally-realized vision of Justice League, I thought it was a bit antithetical to the spirit of the endeavor. This is supposed to be Snyder getting a chance to release the movie he wanted to make and was robbed of the opportunity to finish; is thinking up new elements to throw in fair play, especially when it’s a character as major as the Joker? But having read what he told Vanity Fair, it makes more sense to me. He had an idea of how the Joker would fit into his larger story and how he’d affected Batman in the past, and this is his last chance to show people what that would have been, at least in part. It’s hard to blame him for indulging himself on that score. And this version certainly looks a hell of a lot better than the one in Suicide Squad, which felt like Ayer was just being different for the sake of being different. I don’t like Snyder’s version of the DC Universe (unless you count his Watchmen, which I adore), mostly because I don’t think he gets the heroes, but I suspect that his nihilistic outlook could make him well-suited to create some fascinating versions of the bad guys, and who better to test that out on than the Joker?

this looks more in line with what an older joker paired against an older batman may look like. def an improvement
His Joker from SS was so corny and on-the-nose that I still find it difficult to shake that image off my head, but this is definitely an improvement.
Not really feeling the new look but it could work in the tone of this film
