A Hollywood Reporter exclusive reveals that Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) has joined the cast of the How to Train Your Dragon live-action remake. Gerard Butler is already set to reprise the role of Chief Stoick, and Nico Parker and Mason Thames will portray Astrid and Hiccup. Frost will play Gobber, a weaponsmith who trains the youth of Berk in combat and dragon hunting (and eventually dragon training). Craig Ferguson provided the voice of Gobber in the original movie. Dean DeBlois, co-director of the animated original, is returning to write and direct the remake.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I don’t care who they get for the remake of How to Train Your Dragon. It’s still a live-action remake of an amazing film that they probably can’t improve on. Even the pretty-good sequels can’t compare to the original movie.
