A week and change after the Summer Game Fest, Xbox Games Showcase, and Ubisoft Forward presentations, the new Nintendo Direct landed today with a plethora of trailers and announcements. Here are all the games presented (you can watch the whole Nintendo Direct here):
Well, there it is. Most of these games aren’t really my thing, which is part of why I don’t own a Nintendo Switch, but fans seem happy with this Nintendo Direct. I would love to get ahold of that Marvel vs. Capcom collection, though, especially as it has the old Punisher arcade game. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond looks cool, too; it’s funny to see how Samus rolling up into a ball has evolved visually as video games have grown with each new generation of consoles. Funko Fusion reminds me of a lot of the LEGO games in that it’s a neat idea – take a look at the list of IPs included – that’s ruined because of the Funko/LEGO aesthetic. Metroid and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom seem to be the ones getting Nintendo players excited, and I hope they don’t disappoint when they hit stores.
