A year ago, this day in Geeks + Gamers history brought us the infamous beginnings of MCU Fan. Now, some may be wondering, just who is this MCU Fan character? Where did he—oh, my mistake; I should not assume the sex—they come from, and why are they “infamous”? Well, it all began on a Friday morning, just like any other, during the newly dubbed G+G Daily, where Jeremy (DDayCobra) and Ryan (RK Outpost) report any developments or rumors and react to film trailers in the pop culture world. As per usual for any channel with a large following, there are many trolls in the chats and comment sections. In this particular case, a chatter under the username of “MCU Fan,” with the now disgraced actor Jonathan Majors as the character “Kang the Conqueror” as their avatar, began their debut.
However, G+G Daily is not the first stream in which MCU Fan has appeared. They also frequented the Snake Pit several times in the past, as well as other G+G streams like Mario Kart. What had really kicked off the longer Daily stream was this particular comment made by the famous (or infamous, depending on how one looks at it) Alec Baldwin’s Finger:
Thus began the superchat fight and bombardment of gifted memberships to the main channel, which stretched the typically hour-long show to a whopping three and a half hours. Even MCU Fan received their own gifted membership, much to their chagrin. That legendary day has gone down in the streaming history books, and we honor and cherish it just as much as Jeremy did. You may watch the stream in all its glory again below, should you wish to relive the day.
All joking aside, a happy one-year anniversary to Tears of the Kingdom and all my fellow Zelda fans out there!!
Alec Baldwin’s Finger hooked me up a few months ago.
It’s too bad Youtube hit me with the “Verify It’s You” data farming, so now, I am out of my account. I used to superchat all the time. Youtube’s own policies cost it money, but none of my business. I am not going to give up my data for something I already paid for.
For all the critics of GnG, they at least provided a forum platform. The others did not do that.
the Legendary day we held them Hostage
