Studio Canal confirms that Paddington in Peru will begin production on July 24th. This third entry in the film franchise will be directed by Dougal Wilson in his feature directorial debut. Check out Wilson’s statement from last year:
“As a huge fan of the first two films, I am very excited (if not a little intimidated) to be continuing the story of Paddington. It’s a massive responsibility, but all my efforts will be focused [sic] on making a third film that honours the love so many people have for this very special bear.”
This is great news. The Paddington films are a lot of fun, and this is just about the most wholesome series of movies to come out of the last decade. I love everything, from the bear himself to the wacky villains trying to get ahold of him. I only hope a new director can keep up the same energy.
