Reacher Season 2 Trailer Mocks Your Car’s Safety Features

If you need a shot of testosterone after spending November with The Marvels (assuming you’re one of the few people who’s going to watch it), Jack Reacher’s got you covered. Today, Amazon released a trailer for season 2 of its action series Reacher. Based on the long-running series of novels by Lee Child, Reacher follows a former military police officer who wanders the country, helping people, uncovering conspiracies, and tearing through bad guys like an unholy force of nature. Season 2 – which is based on the eleventh book in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble – finds Reacher reuniting with his old MP team to investigate the murder of one of their own and stumbling upon an evil plot. Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher, with Maria Sten, Shaun Sipos, Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley, and Robert Patrick joining him. Season 2 of Reacher arrives on Amazon Prime Video on December 15, 2024, and you can see the trailer below:

I’m glad they’re following the book formula by only bringing back Reacher; the cast of the first season was well-liked, and I’m sure there was some temptation to bring back Willa Fitzgerald or Malcolm Goodwin, but that wouldn’t be right. Reacher is a rolling stone, and each season, like each book, should find him surrounded by new people. Going from the first novel to the eleventh seems like an odd jump, but Lee Child’s books are stand-alone adventures that lend themselves to picking and choosing. And I can see why they wanted to follow The Killing Floor with this one; going from a small-town setting to facing a crooked military operation is not only a drastic change of scenery but a jump in stakes. And I love that Robert Patrick is the villain (seemingly, at least); a guy like Reacher needs to go up against someone with gravitas, a bad guy you can believe would have the guts to face him. And the action looks like it’ll be just as satisfying as it was in season 1, with Reacher’s raw power dealing out some much-deserved justice to the forces of evil and at least two unfortunate vehicles. I’m glad this show connected with people, and I hope it has a long run ahead of it.

Reacher Season 1 and The Terminal List were two of the best recent shows. I managed to watch both from start to finish which is very rare. Almost never can a show hold my attention for that long. Alan Ritchson really does look the part.
