RUMOR: Meryl Streep to Be Cast as Aslan in Narnia Reboot

In December of last year, it was brought to public attention that C.S. Lewis’s beloved Chronicles of Narnia will be getting a reboot on the streaming platform Netflix. It’s been quite a while since the Narnia films were in theaters, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008), and Voyage of the Dawntreader (2010) being the last ones. One would think hearing about a reboot, especially if adapting The Magician’s Nephew (technically the first book in the series, since it started everything, but listed as the sixth installment in some lists), would rekindle interest. Unfortunately, this is the 21st century and the year 2025.

This reboot is to be directed by Greta Gerwig (known for the recent Barbie film), and according to film producer Amy Pascal, it’s a “very new take… it’s all about Rock N’ Roll.” Hearing such a statement regarding a book series revolving around Christianity causes me great pause, as it should for those who grew up reading the books. Now, casting rumors are swirling, and the most recent is probably the most atrocious of all. According to an exclusive with Nexus Point News, actress Meryl Streep is supposedly in talks to take on the role of Aslan the Lion. Yes. The literal allegory for Jesus Christ, being played by a woman. Aslan, the Great Lion, sacrificing himself for the sins of Edmund Pevensie, who got himself involved with the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Streep would be better set to portray Jadis (the White Witch), but, of course, Hollywood loves to create mock re-imaginings, particularly of Christianity, to cause an uproar amongst believers.

In the past films, Aslan was voiced by Liam Neeson, who portrayed the character well with his quiet yet authoritative voice. Why not bring back Neeson for this role, a casting announcement many would not object to? However, there is not just buzz about the casting alone; reports state that Gerwig’s adaptation is the first of a two-film deal, though Netflix appears to be planning to make eight films in total, with or without Gerwig directing them. Other rumored cast members include Daniel Craig, Charli XCX, and Saoirse (SEER-SHA) Ronan.

This reboot is indeed blasphemous, to say the least, with these radical changes to the classic story done by someone who clearly has no respect for the religion, let alone anyone who practices it. It’s safe to say that these upcoming films will not succeed and will probably be as bad, if not worse, than the bastardization of Tolkien’s Legendarium done by Jeff Bezos and his cronies at Amazon Studios. These reboots will not only anger the faith-based audiences but also the longtime fans who, of course, simply want a faithful telling of Lewis’s works, not some feminist, nihilistic fever dream that will no doubt paint Jadis and her demon minions as “misunderstood” while throwing shade on anything good and just.

When will Hollywood recall the days when they actually hired people who wished to tell good stories, who were actually passionate about their work and not their activism? People who actually used to respect the audience regardless of faith or creed? Will there also be anyone in the higher media reaches, aside from the ordinary fans, who wishes to gatekeep these beloved franchises and books from being turned into communist slop?

The film is not set to be released until 2026 for a theatrical premiere around Thanksgiving, followed by airing on Netflix in December. It’s a safe bet to believe there will not be any backlash over this film from now until its premiere, and it will more than likely bomb at the box office as terribly as Disney’s recent Snow White live-action film.

The number ONE thing that Blackrock and Blackstone did when buying out Webtoons and Manga was to immediately FeMinize all content, and that’s what we are seeing here. This is also why it is totally laughable to say that the west is at war with Russia or China or trying to compete with them when the entertainment class is already doing their job for them by feminizing content. Hollywood puts out feminized content against masculinity in service to global opponents and competitors, so Hollywood betrays the west and works for enemies.

Just this morning, there is a story of UK giving boys anti-misogyny lessons to prevent toxic masculinity and all this is going to do is make westerners into sissies to accelerate that invasion and takeover. We truly have the worst leaders perhaps in all of world history right now.

Drop all entertainment and go to the boxing gym, boys. Learn boxing and take boxing classes and ditch entertainment. Go get sweaty and just do drills on bags. Avoid Hollywood. Find guy groups and entertaining people like FNT to watch instead.
