Gary from Nerdrotic might have a brain aneurysm because it looks like the fourth Star Trek is going to start filming!
Deadline has exclusively reported that the new movie will begin filming in late 2022. The original cast – Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, and Simon Pegg – are all set to return. Sadly, this film will exclude the late Chekov actor Anton Yelchin, who tragically died in 2016.
This isn’t the first time a fourth Star Trek film has been in the works. In 2018, both Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth walked away after failing to come to an agreement with Paramount. The actors claim that “an existing deal with Paramount exists and that the studio is failing to hold their end of the bargain.”
It was previously reported that Quentin Tarantino would also create an “R-rated” Star Trek film. There has been no word on when that movie will even be filming.
Are you looking forward to a new Star Trek film after six years?
