Ryan Reynolds is making a good-natured plea to stop ruining his new movie for everybody. If you’re someone who clicks on trending topics while perusing Twitter, you’ve no doubt seen that there are tons of Deadpool 3 spoilers out there, and some of them are big. Not only are character appearances being revealed, but even some major deaths are now public knowledge. So, Ryan Reynolds is getting in on the fun by posting his own series of set photos, albeit with some digital trickery employed to create fake spoilers. He’s also suggesting – by not suggesting – that people use the phrases “Deadpool Leaks,” Deadpool Spoilers,” and “Deadpool Scoops” to manipulate the search results and hinder spoilers. These are his tweets:
Deadpool began with a leak. So I’m joining in. But PLEASE don’t overuse the phrase, “Deadpool Leaks” because it might screw up search results if anyone is looking for Deadpool leaks or Deadpool spoilers or perhaps, Deadpool Scoops. #DeadpoolLeaks #DeadpoolSpoiler #DeadpoolScoop pic.twitter.com/yxZN8MslLn

Ryan Reynolds seems like a genuinely cool guy. Instead of going after individuals or making some stilted demand for the spoilers to stop (not that I’d disagree with him, but when you’re in his position, there’s a certain way to go about things like this), he turns it into a joke and recruits movie fans to help preserve the film’s surprises. The pictures made me laugh, especially the one with Deadpool walking away from Mickey while carrying a bag of money; that one also touches on people’s fears over this movie, namely Disney’s influence. I like the idea of screwing with the search results to put a stop to spoilers, or at least to curb their reach a bit; I know things about Deadpool 3 I really wish I didn’t, and the only trending topic is “Deadpool 3,” not even with a spoiler tag. I have to admit, though, that part of me wants to see Deadpool and Wolverine fight a Predator… or at least Urkel.
