Hollywood scoop master Jeff Sneider reports that Sigourney Weaver is in talks to join The Mandalorian and Grogu, the atrociously-titled film spinoff of Disney+’s most successful title. The Hollywood Reporter later confirmed the news. The movie is directed by Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau, with him, Dave Filoni, and Kathleen Kennedy producing. Sigourney Weaver Mandalorian

I like Sigourney Weaver, and I have mixed feelings about this movie. I would have only been excited before I saw season 3 of The Mandalorian on Disney+. But they’ve clearly lost the creative vision that propelled the show’s first two seasons. I have no idea what type of character Weaver would play, so it’s hard to say if she’s a good choice. I will watch the movie out of curiosity and some sense of obligation, and her presence doesn’t affect that one way or another. I hope the movie is good, she does well if cast in it, and most of all, that the series gets back on track. I doubt it, but that’s what I would like.

But what do you think? Do you want to see Sigourney Weaver in Star Wars? Are you looking forward to The Mandalorian and Grogu? Let us know in the comments below!

I like her. I always liked her, but come on, age is a factor. She’s a classic. Delivered some of the best movies ever, but one reason I avoided Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer. I am actually big fans of all those actors, but there needs to be a shift change. There has been overexposure.
Weaver, Douglas, Feiffer, Lloyd, Ford, Hamill, De Niro, Pacino, Hopkins, Patrick Stewart, Keaton, Stallone, Arnold, Lee Curtis, Walken, Sam Jackson all need to retire.
They were the best crew ever. Most talented. I’ll always remember them fondly, but enough is enough. It’s getting to the point where acting is like politics and entertainers are like Politicians that just refuse term limits and retirement. They look like Pelosi or Biden in office for the last 50 years.
It’s a tough call because Alec Guiness and Christopher Lee and Ian McKlennan still delivered, but it’s just too much now to where I do not even know who the young talent is.
It’s a question that should be posed to the more honest actors, that is, if there are any honest actors, but at what age do you just start to turn down roles because it’s just not realistic anymore?
One thing Weaver had was authenticity. There was something about that old celluloid film that was gritty and Weaver comes from that era, but she was younger then. That 35mm look is one that I miss.

Not disrespecting her because I consider her a legend.
