The Bad Guys 2 is Coming in 2025

Today, Deadline revealed that Universal and DreamWorks Animation have set The Bad Guys 2 for an August 1st, 2025 release. The sequel to 2022’s hit animated comedy will see the return of Sam Rockwell as Mr. Fix, Marc Maron as Mr. Snake, Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark, Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha, and Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantul. (Last year, DreamWorks released a Christmas special called The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday, which went straight to Netflix and recast all the voice actors.) Pierre Perifel will once again direct, with Damon Ross producing. JP Sans, former head of character animation for the first film, will co-direct, and Daniel Pemberton will score the feature.  “The Bad Guys are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys, when they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do ‘one last job’ by an all-female squad of criminals.”

I really enjoyed The Bad Guys more than I expected I would two years ago. The humor, animation, and characters offered more than the trailers or concept hinted at. I’ll definitely be checking this one out. I only hope they can maintain the same level of quality and sense of fun for the sequel.

But what do you think? Did you like The Bad Guys, and will you watch the sequel? Let us know in the comments!
