The Boy and the Heron English Cast Announced
GKids and Studio Ghibli announced the English voice cast for The Boy and the Heron this morning. Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film is based on the 1937 novel How Do You Live? by Genzaburo Yoshino. The cast includes the following actors:
Christian Bale as Shoichi Maki
Dave Bautista as The Parakeet King
Gemma Chan as Natsuko
Willem Dafoe as Noble Pelican
Karen Fukuhara as Lady Himi
Mark Hamill as Granduncle
Robert Pattinson as The Gray Heron
Florence Pugh as Kiriko
It’s a great cast, although that comes as little surprise. Studio Ghibli projects always get the best actors and stand out as rare Japanese animation that is tolerably dubbed. I don’t know much about this film or the book it’s based on, and I want to keep it that way. I’m so excited for this film, and I want to go in fresh. The Boy and the Heron comes to American cinemas on December 8th courtesy of GKids.
