The Boys Trailer Gains Superpowers

We have a couple more weeks to wait for season 3 of The Boys, and Amazon has released another trailer to entice us. Homelander is off the rails (again), Hughie decides to sink to Butcher’s level (again), and Butcher is given pills that give the user superpowers. New supes Soldier Boy and Crimson Countess are introduced, obvious jabs at Marvel heroes Captain America and Scarlet Witch. Check out the new trailer here:

I’m not sure how I feel about them showing Hugh rejoining the Boys in the trailer. I guess it is kind of an obvious plot point, but I would have liked to see that develop without prior knowledge. With that being said, this is a great trailer. I love watching Homelander’s debased antics play out; he’s my favorite part of the show. I like the idea of leveling the playing field by giving the Boys powers, and it comes as no surprise that MM has qualms with the notion. I could be wrong, but that looked like Queen Maeve out of costume giving Butcher the pills. Given her past with Homelander and how she’s been treated, I wouldn’t be surprised if she left Vought and the Seven.

It also appears that Butcher is keeping in touch with Becca’s son after her demise at the end of season 2. That’s an interesting idea – the super-powered son of the world’s worst superhero being raised by someone who hunts supes. He already hates his father, so I’m eager to see how this plays out.
