Mike Flanagan‘s next Netflix series, The Fall of the House of Usher, got a release date of October 12th and several photos released today. This 8-episode series is an adaptation of the several of the works of Edgar Allan Poe (including the titular short story) and features many of the cast members from Flanagan’s previous Netflix shows. Henry Thomas, Carla Gugino, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, and more return. Meanwhile, additions to the cast include Bruce Greenwood replacing Frank Langella as Roderick, as well as Carl Lumby and Mark Hamill. Despite adapting a famous story from Poe’s portfolio, this rendition is updated, following a corrupt pharmaceutical company run by siblings Roderick and Madeleine Usher. Check out the images here:
I don’t feel strongly about the pictures, but I’m happy to see so much of the cast from Hill House and the other shows back. I actually only saw The Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass recently. I don’t love the horror genre and don’t seek it out, but these are all really interesting shows. Mike Flanagan has joined Jordan Peele as a director whose work in horror has won me over. I can’t wait to see this because I like the original story, and this is sure to be a cool interpretation.
But what do you make of the pictures? Let us know in the comments!
