Spoiler Warning! So I finally just seen this movie. I’m not sure how I feel about it. I mean it wasn’t the greatest movie I’ve ever seen. But it was a solid watch. It was shot in these really long takes. Kind of a crazy story. I couldn’t believe the one guy got stabbed like that.. Why would they not just leave that pilot to burn?.. It was weird seeing two GOT actors play different roles in the same movie.
I really enjoyed the movie but the pilot scene didn’t make sense to me either but especially what happens right after it. Because it was done in one shot it also did not feel they had travelled as far as they did but other than that, yes like you said a solid film and certainly worth a watch.
Ya it was almost like a time-lapse at times. It went from night to day really fast at one point. He jumps in the river and the next thing you know it’s day lol
I thought it was an excellent film especially when you learn about the things Sam Mendes and his DP (Director of Photography) did to make the film look like one continuous shot. I think that is the biggest draw of this film, because creating a seemingly continuous shot on a scale of this movie is not easy. It shows true artistry in filmmaking. I doubt the moments of the film you mention would be nearly as impactful if they were shot in the traditional film format. The film forces you to be a part of the action from beginning to end, and for these reasons, I think the film is excellent.
