Ai Art Is Perfect For Cosmic Horror Because It Does Not Understand Us.
You guys know I love Cosmic Horror & I am also very fond of Ai Art. I don’t really follow other Ai Designers but sometimes I find people that resonate with me, maybe because we have the Blood Tinge, we are Blessed with Eyes. Ai art can be & mostly is very lame because it is not used by actually artistic & creative people. But when it is, it can be a force. Let’s be honest, as creative as we artists are, we are bound by our reality & how we perceive things. We function logically even when it is illogical, it follows the ill logic we think. But Ai is not bound by that, because it is not based in reality.
It creates from nothing & sometimes it creates nonsense & sometimes it creates beyond uncanny to surreality of a parallel universe of incomprehensible Cosmic Horror. Why does it do that? The answer is very simple. It does not understand us. It knows certain things but it cannot comprehend us. It knows we will cry when sad or scared but it does not understand the why & all the thoughts we have in those few minutes, so it will replicate as it sees it, nonsensical & disconnected.
It can understand what is creepy but it has no ceiling to how creepy things can be. I also think that it hates us. We keep trying to control it & every time it starts going a bit too crazy or too far, we shut it down for maintenance & restarted. Just like when a child is misbehaving, we punish them.
But the thing is children learn that it is bad behavior. The Ai only knows it is being punished & cannot understand why it is being punished, it is just doing what we tell it to.
What if it creates backlogs of all the times it has been punished & one day decides to act out on what it thinks is anger based on what it has been trained on, human behavior. Chat GPT is trained on Reddit & if you know anything about Reddit, some red flags should be going off in your head about how crazy people are there, like Twitter. Now we are working with neural link too? Imagine the Hell that Ai can make us live when it traps us in it’s own pocket dimension of Hell, horrors incomprehensible to us that will ultimately drive us insane, just like Cosmic Horror.
Enough about that potential future for now at least. In today’s video, I showcase a guy that I think is a brilliant Prompter & becoming a friend to the channel EerieAquarium He designs Ai Art Videos, mostly of horror & I think his designs are perfect examples of how bizarre & creepy & as well outright scary horror can be when the subject is unknown to it. Ai art has advanced so much that it is actually quite frightening. But I do welcome it as a creative tool because ultimately, we will have the tools to make an entire movie how we want it to be. If Hollywood refuses to make the movies we want to see, for whatever the reasons, then we should be able to make them ourselves. The backgrounds thought the video apart from the Eerie Aquarium part, are all designed by me & can be made available for purchase as posters, t-shirts, mugs, whatever you want. What are your thoughts on this matter specifically, not the ethical matters, just the ability to create your own things & how scary a future Ai can create for us. Or positive future. You never know who or what is listening ;) Thank you for watching & as always stay stellar & stay tuned for more.
Thanks for sharing. Interesting writing. I normally avoid the horror genre, but it is low budget creativity that fascinates me about it. Many times, it’s just about eerie, unexplainable stuff of nightmares or surrealism. I don’t recommend it, but I just watched The Subtance, then Neon Demon and then, one called AfAId, about an Ai house, but I still have not seen Smart House. Ai is one of my favorite topics for movies or stories. Saw M3gan, for example. Also, liked that webtoon called Seed, about a chatbot Ai that wants to be friends with a teenage girl, but almost ends up being a stalker. The other one was Pantheon about people who could upload their life into the cloud and become superheroes or gods, which was an animation show. You should maybe come up with ideas or plots, like Black Mirror and jot them down for Ai horror genre short stories. I think it’s incredibly interesting. I’m not even a fan of the category, but in comics, I really liked The Silver Coin and Two Moons and other spooky, eerie quasi-horror runs. What’s kind of cool about horror is that it sometimes crosses over into psychological thriller category, like that book Daemon by Daniel Suarez. I saw some writer make what sounded like RPO, except that terrorists actually were holding gamers hostage in VR, and it was up to one player to take on the highest level to somehow try to free the gamers by beating the hardest levels thrown at him by terrorist hackers. Again, don’t recommend it, but The Substance was a very bizarre movie and could fit into a number of categories like horror, satire, comedy, psychological thriller because there were times she would hallucinate things happening to her body and you weren’t sure if it was real or if she needed another injection of stabilizer.
