Apophis is a member of the race known as the Goa’uld, sentient snake-like parasitic life forms who have accrued massive power and influence throughout the milky way galaxy as they forcefully acquire the bodies of other species to use as their hosts. The Goa’uld seek to enslave other races using stolen technology from advanced cultures to achieve their goals of galactic domination.
