Biden administration coerced social media giants into possible free speech violations: court
The White House, health officials and the FBI may have violated the First Amendment rights of people posting about COVID-19 and elections on social media by pressuring technology companies to suppress and remove the posts, a federal appeals court ruled late Friday.
Stating the obvious there.
The Biden administration has 10 days to seek a Supreme Court review of the ruling.
“DOJ is reviewing the court’s decision and will evaluate its options in this case,” the White House said in a statement.
Once again, they were caught doing something wrong, but refuse to accept responcibility for.
…the White House coerced the platforms through “intimidating messages and threats of adverse consequences” and commandeered the decision-making processes of social media companies, particularly in handling pandemic-related and 2020 election posts.
Yay, like how to suppress the damage their agenda/narrative has caused to so many people.
“It is true that the officials have an interest in engaging with social media companies, including on issues such as misinformation and election interference. But the government is not permitted to advance these interests to the extent that it engages in viewpoint suppression,” the judges wrote.
And we saw how all that was one way. Only the government approved viewpoints were allowed. Government misinformation (Russian dossier HOAX) was allowed to spread, etc.
And how the so-called “fact checkers” are themselves full of fraud and misinformation.
When the media is no longer neutral (and are very much biased), and accept talking points without question or concern, when social media companies and other tech companies are so ready and willing to censor free speech and open discussions as “misinformation” or “hate”, that is a huge problem.
I just hope something more comes from this lawsuit and court verdict.
September 9, 2023 at 12:05 pm #306318As I’ve said before, the main thing that made me suspicious was that they were forcing HEALTHY people to take the jib-jab as well as people like me who’d be getting it anyway because of our health problems. Even worse was when they were bullying healthy people to take it or loose their jobs in the process. I don’t ever remember everyone being told to take the Swine Flu jab back in 2009 when that was going around.

So it was not just First Amendment violations, but election interference as well, as the fake dossier and the all too real laptop is proving to be.
“If the government in power can restrict what opinions you can share then we no longer have a first amendment, meaning we no longer have a free country. What Joe Biden’s administration did is the biggest governmental attack on the first amendment in any of our lives.”
As we have seen by the DEMon’s attack on Amendment rights and on the Constitution itself, they care not for the freedom of US Citizens, only Power, staying in power, and making sure the power of the US citizen is diminishing.

Democrats are not anywhere near the only problem. Not only do they not care about the freedom of the citizens they don’t care about the citizens. As you elude to they exist only to serve themselves. Any platitudes of compassion or understanding from the political elite are lies meant to fool you. At this point I assume the opposite of what they state is probably true.

When the trucker protest refused to comply, they sent in bus loads of armor wearing baton wielding “police”. They formed a line and marched forward 1 step at a time. They said nothing and if you were there when they stepped forward again they beat the sh!t out of you.
Now the USA is not Canada. While I think the government here would do the exact same thing the results would likely be very different.
Everyone seems to believe IF their was civil conflict here it would be between ideological sides. I think it would actually be between the US Gov and the citizens.
Anything that started between the “sides” would probably organically extinguish quickly because while many folks are probably certain they are down for such a fight I can guarantee after you get beat, see someone get beat or shot or killed, very few will want any part of that. People in this country tend to fall apart when the electricity is out for more than a few hours or the stores run low on TP. Wait until folks actually see death and destruction.

Speaking of which, the trial of the two “organizers” started last week.
The libtard government of Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act because IMO it made Trudeau look bad on the international stage, while he hide in his cottage and refused to even talk to the protestors and end the legally constitutional right to peacefully protest.
IIRC, their main point was if the government would give an “END DATE” to the lockdowns, they would have left.
But this Libtard does not work “for the people”, but for his own “personal interests”.
Same with any globalist/elitist, be they Canadian, American, etc.
They all hate people who stand up for their rights and freedoms.
It is only slowly making its way thru the legal systems.
You cannot censor opinions you dislike and still call it free speech.
You cannot peacefully protest if it does against the government agenda/narrative.
Sadly, even if in the end the government is found guilty and the courts orders concrete policy changes be made, the actual officials who decided/directed this violations will bare no consequences.
