In wake of Canucks singer’s firing, Don Cherry reminds only the ‘left’s view’ tolerable
Don Cherry said Vancouver Canucks anthem singer Mark Donnelly made two mistakes that got him fired.
One, is not owning the hockey team.
Two, is forgetting the trouble that comes with speaking your mind today.
“He was becoming a pretty big star,” said Grapes. “You have to be careful because you can be stealing somebody else’s limelight.”
The biggest aspect, as Cherry experienced, is 2020’s lack of tolerance for contrasting…
OH, how true.
…the 60-year-old singer’s decision to sing O Canada at an anti-COVID-19 lockdown rally…
Was that all?
And not just the singer is getting in trouble:
It’s risky, as Chilliwack school board trustee Heather Maahs learned. Responding to Canucks’ owner Francesco Aquilini’s tweet dismissing Donnelly, she tweeted, “Why? Why would you politicize the singing of the national anthem? Donnelly is a patriot.”
She’s now facing her own backlash.
“Even the appearance of support for those protesting or defying provincial health orders meant to curb the surging second wave of #COVID19 cases is reprehensible— especially coming from someone in a leadership role in the school system,” tweeted Teri Mooring, president of the B.C. Teachers’ Federation.
In 2020 there seems be only one decided-upon view permitted and no debate. An opinion cannot only make a person jobless, but also ostracized.
Same goes for those daring to support that person’s right to that opinion.
“Would Mark Donnelly be in trouble expressing his opinion had it been in favour of masks and lockdowns?” asks Grapes.
The answer is simple.
The SJW, toxic extreme leftist, marxist, anti-freedom, agenda driven, hate police will not accept anything other than 100% believe in THEIR point of view.
