Trying to take a break from everything and delve into an old school game I’ve never heard of before. Was browsing the NES app on the Switch and Crystalis looked interesting. Only about 20-30 min into it and it’s fun enough so far.
Has anyone played this before?

December 15, 2022 at 10:49 pm #289415It plays like a combination of the 1st Zelda game and Dragon Quest. An over world map you can fight on, use your items, enter towns or caves. The level up system has some very Dragon Quest vibes, same with the shopping and using Inns in towns.
It’s been a good escape from the newer stuff. Getting lost in an NES game I’ve never played before has been fun thus far. It’s worth a look. Arcus does a great play through of it, and at the time, was also his first shot at the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlJm5k4EYbY
December 15, 2022 at 11:31 pm #289418I tackled Crystalis back int he day when it first came out. For an old school side scroller action RPG, it’s a good challenge…at least my kid brain remembers it being so. When you beat it, it’s earned.
