A bit of grifting is fine, you gotta make a living, it’s a fucked up system might as well “get yours”. But holy shit did this moment on FNT come off as fucking low right off the bat of last weeks shit show of an episode.

The sphere of geeks and gamers is going to have some neckbeards. There are going to be incels and smarmy know it alls that are insufferable and say annoying shit in the audience, and they’re going to be overbearing and they’re going to sometimes bring the show down and the mood down of the general fun for the hosts.

But holy shit guys, this is the audience that supports your livelihoods, they are fiercely loyal, put their faith and hard earned money into your shows and this is how you repay their loyalty? These are the guys you have  blown smoke up their ass for years on end and told that you were fighting this culture war for and cultivated.

After all these years of grifting, after all the hollow attacks on Kathleen Kennedy, after waxing poetic about the need for quality, wholesome entertainment that provides optimism for everyone. You lot sided with a toxic intersectional feminist calling your entire chat incels over your loyal fanbase and laughed about it to their face.

    Damn that’s scummy.

It’s a free country, you don’t have to be nice to annoying neckbeards, but you went out of your way to bring them on board and tell them you were in this fight with them.

Do you have the SLIGHTLEST bit of respect for you audience that you pander to and grifted towards week after week? Holy shit this was shameful.

My stomach turned the way I saw Gary fucking applaud like some high and mighty shit and Jeremy laughed at the audience for being a sea of incels.

Let me try to put this in perspective. Imagine Taylor Swift, who grifts her audience too. She preys on her audience in a similar way, feeds into their hates and builds a bit of a cult following blowing smoke up their asses, she has her own fervent “Fellowship”. Is her audience a bit insufferable in the same kind of way? Full of hate and spite and geeks of a different variety? Absolutely, but from a certain vantage point it’s noble what she does, she fosters a sense of community and sense of belonging within her fans who don’t have much else in this crazy world. A lot of them are outcasts, a lot of them sadly give a damn about that silly little facade of community they’ve built.

It’s cringe, it’s exploitive, it’s sad, but it serves a purpose, it gives some lost souls a purpose and Swift takes on that role seriously and respects her fans.

You would never see Taylor Swift get up in front of a stadium, have a guest on that calls all her fans a bunch of insufferable incels, and then have her laugh about it and insult her own audience. For one it would just be terrible businesses, but beyond that, it would be an ultimate betrayal and expose her as a fake piece of shit, even if she is one. It would expose it to everyone.

Like holy shit, how fucking little respect do you guys give your own rabid fanbase and your own means of making a VERY good living? How little self restraint do you have to not expose to your paying customers that you actually think so little of them?

And shout out to Rippa here. That dude respects his fans, it’s not an act, he’s actually appreciative of his followers as insufferable as they may be. The dude wants to do right by them and values making them happy. It’s the absolute #1 reason he had such a fantastic start with the Rippaverse, the dude gives a fuck and respects his audience that put their faith in him. So as much shit as he gets for his other shortcomings as a creative, as a figurehead for Rippaverse, hats off for respecting the fans, no joke.

This was hard to fucking watch, I used to think Jeremy was a real one with SOME genuine respect for his awkward audience of geeks and gamers and that there was some heart in this sphere, but the small amount of success has really gotten to their heads. It’s hard to watch now.

“Hail to the chat, the chads of the internet”. The look on Gary’s face while he does that clap, god damn. You guys truly are a bunch of grifting fucks that have conned a legion of insufferable viewers. I dunno, maybe you guys deserve each other.

I’m not going to say the viewers are worthy of respect, but I used to respect this scene for being a safe haven for the outcasts that once had a home in nerdom, this place was a refuge. I respected that you guys put up with the neckbeards and the insufferable fans who would bitch and moan about the stupidest shit. It was often cringe, but it was noble in a way and heartfelt.

    The mask has really slipped.

You guys used to genuinely believe in all this stuff, were genuinely fighting to try to bring back meritocracy and better entertainment. These days you seem more interested in railing your own audience for luls who send you their hard earned super chats and burning through good faith.

I think I’m just about over this entire scene, first all the Rippaverse bullshit, now the Rekeita stuff. No one has any respect for one another, or the audience, this scene has no human element left, it’s all about the griftings and $$$ now. Year and year of grift has sucked all the humanity out of everyone in this sphere.

It’s sad the racket this has all turned into as an audience of easily exploited incels get taken advantage of by a group of ungrateful shits that acted like leaders of a movement for money.

Oh well, it is what it is.

With all the decay and increased grifting and people’s lives falling apart and the animosity between everyone ramping up to 11. I think it would do this scene a lot of good to do a little soul searching. To think about what their motives are, what their ambitions are. Is this all just hollow grifting for money? Empty panderings and petty politics? You guys are going to shit REALLY fast. Jeremy, The Quartering, Rippa, Gary, this whole scene is doubling down on this petty horse shit grifting and politics and bullshit. There’s nothing of substance here, there’s no principle, no drive to do anything of value.

You guys are really starting to look like those smarmy, back scratching, do nothing, hack Hollywood elite you used to talk shit about.

Rekieta isn’t the only one in need of an intervention in these parts.

Only catch parts of shows. The part with “Furry Road” made me laugh. There was also talk of “Old Man” Mad Max and having Mel Gibson return, which would be cool. Could maybe have cameos of top NASCAR drivers and Moto X drivers like Travis Pastrana, Jeremy McGrath, maybe Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, out there ripping around in the desert with gas, oil and diesel fuel.

No issues with the feedback post, with the exception of Taylor Swift. She has overtly hit her cult with just about every single globalist harmful message. She is total New World Order. She’s one of my LEAST favorite people.

Ha, fair enough, and I agree to a large degree, she has been weaponized. She’s a terrible influence on society, but that’s partly why I chose her as an example. That even with all the shit she injects into our culture, she DOES provide some positive value, she does value her fans, she does give them a place where they feel they belong, and she takes that seriously, which is what makes her so powerful of an influencer, same with Rippa.

This cult appeal can be positive, or it can be negative like anything else. We used to love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and our Countries of birth, quality writing, hard work and meritocracy just as much before all the decay set in.

Point is, these guys have kinda lost their mission statement to be the leaders fighting the wokeness. And if that’s a conscious decision that’s fine, they’re free to cater to whatever audience or crowd they wish.

But shitting on “incels” and nerds on the internet comes off as toxic if those were the people you vouched for and cultivated over the years and pretended to speak for. It ends up making the whole show look like hollow grifting and exploitation while making clowns of the viewers.

Say what you want about Rippa fans or “Swifties’ they are part of a close knit community that has one another’s backs, there is a dynamic of support that they can rely on. It’s frankly just sad when the people pocketing the money secretly loath the audience and openly mock them to their face.

So, what wrong happened there? They were kidding and poking fun. Clearly that went over your head.

Jeremy, Ryan, and Gary always show appreciation for the fans, which is the chat. They always mention it too. ALWAYS. Its why they have meet-ups man. They literally SAY that. The meet-up’s are FOR the fans. I have lost count the amount of times they have mentioned that without the chat/fans they wouldn’t be here.

Interesting that you decided to post about this, but not Ryan’s little over the top 10 second tantrum towards Jeremy. lol.

“Interesting that you decided to post about this, but not Ryan’s little over the top 10 second tantrum towards Jeremy. lol.”

Do you have a timestamp? I didn’t watch much of this episode.

Let me put it this way. This could have been so simple and transparent and allayed all fears that these guys are grifters had they simply said to Danica right then and there. “Hey, this is our audience, you’re our guest here, try to have a little respect.” It would have built so much trust then and there, some sincere and immediate appreciation for the audience that has been severely lacking in each and every one of these situations where the audience is attacked.

You can see Disparu get flustered that episode, “Is anyone else going to say anything? Am I the only one here who wants to stand up for the fans?” There’s a reason he got so much praise in the chat. He’s the only one who gave a fuck for the fans in the audience that episode. And his absence was loud and clear this episode as the panel got their rocks off laughing it up.

Again, say what you want about Taylor, or Rippa, but they would have never let someone disrespect their paying audience like that, would have never let such a mockery happen to their supporters so they could pander to their guest.

Instead there’s this bizarre silence and jeering about the “chads” in the chat. These guys agree with a lot of what was said, they couldn’t bring themselves  to stand up for the viewers that entire 3 hour episode. It was awkward and made the whole show a joke.

Timestamp is shortly after 13:29. Start it there to get context. lol

    #318878

Yeah, fun interaction with Ryan there, but it doesn’t diffuse the situation.

Ok, i’m going to try to be fair and dial down the neckbeard levels. Jeremy wasn’t on the show last week, he wasn’t there and didn’t see how terrible Danica was as a guest. And no it wasn’t a joke, she did that fake apology thing where she said “Hey it’s ok incels, I’ve been there too, I know what it’s like to not be getting any and it’s terrible”. Like holy shit that was painful to sit through as she rubbed that in and everyone just sat there quietly. It was pure cringe.

She had genuine scorn for the chat, some warranted, but largely not and was more sensitive than anyone in the audience was being. The FNT crew let a legit intersectional feminist on the show and just let her unload on their paying customers for 2 hours while codling her. It was the most fucking bizzare FNT show ever, bar none. And not one of them has commented on why they let her do that.

I could take outlandish guesses about how this happened, like maybe Mrs. Nerdrotic wanted a specific guest on after being so horrendously treated by this community and maybe Gary obliged for being such a good sport over the years. I dunno. Like I have to take absurd leaps of logic to understand why these guys are throwing us to the wolves.

And sure, it’s just a single “joke”, it’s just one episode. But it calls into question the whole dynamic here, and I know I’m not the only one that feels this way, there’s some real feelings of betrayal of the fanbase in the comments to sit on this for so long and not stick your neck out for the fandom.

Standing up for the fans should have happened by now, should have happened THAT episode in THAT moment. But now if they catch on to how shit they’ve been to their own audience it’ll just come off as placating the mob. They’ve already shown themselves for who they are. Disparu was the only one who gave any fucks.

We geeks and gamers have been kicked around over the years and suffer all these slanders and slights from all the people laughing it up as our fandoms get destroyed, and that’s exactly what this sphere has turned into.

Yeah it’s petulant and cringe to even point it out. It is what it is. This is what much of the audience is. And it’s sad to see this unfold as it did.

The elephants just pile up in the room as the audience is grifted and shamed.

Didn’t bother making a post last week because I figured this was just a speed bump and these guys would come out and do right by the viewers in an obviously shitty situation that tarred and feathered them, but instead they just laughed in our faces. Fucking weird.

These guys need to get together and figure out exactly what this is all about now in this post Hollywood era, what do they stand for, and figure out how they can coexist with their audience. Or if this is even what they want to do any more.

You are either here to sow division, or you lack any modicum of self awareness whatsoever and your tethers to reality are strained by the affection you have for your own voice.

      #318884

I like Taylor as a artist but I’m not one of the crazy die-hard fans lol. Even so, I do agree that she’s been blown out of proportion because of her current tour. Miss Swift has done tours before but I don’t remember them being in your face in the way that the Eras Tour has been. They’re acting like she’s never toured before. Not even her Reputation Tour was this in your face. I also agree that Miss Swift is very respectful towards her fanbase unlike most other celebs and I can respect her for that at least.

(Not gonna lie; her singing about her exes can get a little annoying even for me lol)

      #318886

Love her or not, you can’t deny the impact she’s had on our culture at large

      @Vknid
Yeah I’m an insufferable neckbeard, that’s why I post here, I think that’s why other people post here and watch Geeks and Gamers videos.

I’d like to believe I’m self aware, I make these posts hoping to help other people in this sphere be more self aware. But sure, it’s entirely possible i’m riddeled with crazed delusions, seems plenty common these days. We’ve been over this before, yes I enjoy making these posts.

Am I here to sow division? If by division you mean asking these guys to stand up for their fans and continue to be successful and positive leaders of this fandom then yes, I am sowing division.

And just to be clear, I am not advocating for the fans to be able to shit on people and discriminate. This Danika lady was totally out of line and made a mountain of a molehill. She was the one to resort to personal attacks over mundane takes on a cartoon show. It was not the chat that escalated this.

FFS, this is the internet, there are going to be bad apples everywhere. These guy let her paint the entire audience with a broad brush and let her shit on everything they supposedly stand for: respecting the fans. THAT is the issue. Absolute, raw toxicity from this woman totally excused and the fans are made the butt of the joke.

Again, didn’t post anything last week, gave these guys the benefit of the doubt, if I were an agitator I would’ve pounced on it then. But the behavior this week served only to amplify the problem.

My late grandmother was a huge Beatles fan but she wasn’t one of the die-hard crazies that were around at the time (believe her, there were plenty lol). I believe it was the last song that they did that had them being filmed on top of a building in London. I can’t remember which one but my grandmother told me that she “felt very sorry for the police for trying to hold back all those silly women”. Her words, not mine LOL!

Also, I’m a huge Spice Girls fan. Went to their reunion tour five years ago. I like to admit that I’m one of the more sensible fans out there but even I got nervous before the show started to the point when I couldn’t even eat the tub of chips that my friend had gotten for us. Then ten minutes later I made a grab for said chips just to calm my nerves lol. Let’s just say that I was delighted to yell “SPICE UP YOUR LIFE!” without worrying or angering my neighbours for once!

It’s also one of the reasons why I tend to avoid male artists because their fanbases are bat-shit crazy. One Direction had THE worst fanbase I’ve seen for ANY boy band. The only boy band I could tolerate for years was the Backstreet Boys but I’ve been trying to broaden my horizons a bit with that category of music in recent years.

      #318888

@DragonLady Your post is so wholesome and positive that I have NO IDEA what you’re doing posting in this thread XD RUN WHILE YOU CAN. THOSE CRAZY MALE NERDS ARE HERE RIGHT NOW GOING APESHIT.

As a dude, it was our job to talk as much shit about backstreet boys as humanly possible. But after watching season one of Tokyo Vice (Must see, season 2 goes woke though) I have a new appreciation for the band:

      @IllTemperedTuna

Thanks lol. I was just giving out examples that not all of us fans of these major pop culture-based artists are crazy lol! Trust me, there’s a LOT of artists I like that’d make a lot of people want to throw rocks at me for liking them hee hee!

There’s a excellent epic version of ‘I Want It That Way’ by this channel. I’d love them to cover a Spice Girls song. They’ve done Britney too (another one of my guilty pleasures!).

And if we’re going to link epic versions of popular pop songs, you can rock out to this banger:

The Backstreet Boys were also the only artists I can think of that thanked their fans through song (and the only group of men who can actually dance as well as their back-ups can)…as is proven in this vid. That awkward moment when they can do Star Wars better than Disney can LOL!
