The blind lawyer by day and the vigilante hero by night. Daredevil is my favorite superhero show of all-time. I enjoy Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Matt Murdock/Daredevil as we see him from a struggling kid to the watchful protector of Hell’s Kitchen. I wish that the series would have continued after Season 3 but it was cancelled way too soon. I also enjoy Vincent D’Onofrio’s portrayal of Kingpin. The dynamic interactions and action sequences between the two actors and characters really brought the Marvel Comic to life in the live-action adaptation. What are your favorite memories of the Daredevil series? Did it meet your expectations, exceed your expectations, or were below your expectations? Let’s discuss it here.

This was the closest to a “live-action comic in real life” I’ve seen yet. It took everything that Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy was supposed to be and made it FEEL like this would actually happen. The Punisher storyline may be pushing the envelope too much, but the rest of Daredevil’s stand alone stories felt very believable.

When Netflix canceled everything, initially everybody was upset because they did a REALLY good job with that universe. But I think Netflix was thinking several years ahead. They knew that Disney would eventually want more money or more control or something. They knew THEY were on the hook for the production time and costs and that fans would eventually want those characters back in the MCU. They cut ties while everything was hot and gave Disney EXACTLY enough time to start producing their own version of that universe with these characters.

Hopefully, Disney takes the ball and runs with it the way Netflix did. Most of the actors have said they’d like to come back and Disney is going to have some big holes to fill. However, I doubt ANY of these shows would be on Disney+ if they kept the graphic violence, drugs and drinking meaning they’d likely be placed on Hulu.

Hopefully, if they restart making the shows, they don’t neuter them. Part of what made Netflix’s Marvel New York universe so good was how raw everything was.

Hello tazjam, I agree with you about the “live-action comic in real life” and that Batman feel found in Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. I think the Punisher storyline in Season 2 was to set up the Punisher series on Netflix. Not only that but I also think it had something to do with the philosophy of being a hero from an anti-hero perspective. Hence, the Punisher (from a philosophical stand point) takes the Kingpin role in Season 2 because Kingpin was a minor antagonist in that season.

I still wish that Netflix had one more season with Daredevil. So that all the characters in this series get closure before Disney has the possibility of neutering it. However, I can see from your perspective why it would make sense from a business perspective. I do not trust Disney with Daredevil, Punisher, or Luke Cage. I think that they could do a better job with Iron Fist and Jessica Jones but the Netflix shows that were really good (Daredevil, Punisher, and Luke Cage) will be neuter because Disney does not like drawing out the graphic violence, drugs, and drinking. Disney’s and Marvel’s perspective on superhero movies (and/or TV shows) is they want everyone to enjoy their shows and movies. This means that they will appeal to the SJWs and non-violent crowds of the mainstream entertain media instead of writing a good story with well developed characters. If you need an example of how Disney destroys shows and or movies then look at Star Wars and look at their remakes of their classical animated movies. I hope that I am wrong but I have been burned by Disney’s shows and movies way too much lately. Thank you for your reply and hope to hear from you soon.

While I enjoyed all of the Netflix Marvel shows… Daredevil imo is the best of the shows. There is just something about the way Matt struggles to balance the lawyer and vigilantee that he is. Daredevil Season 3, while being a great ending as it comes full circle with Matt beating Fisk, and the return of Nelson and Mudock (and Page) was a welcome one. Too bad we will never see Dex become full on Bullseye unless the show continues somehow.
