Surely everyone feels this hard push to get an electric vehicle.  California is banning combustion cars and gas stations.  Other countries are doing similar things.

The assumption is, well it’s better for the environment/climate.

      But is it?

I have never seen a shred of evidence proving cars are THE issue.  I am sure they contribute but I think they are just a fraction of what industry creates and that is going to be mostly in places with little or no regulation like China and India.

Now factor in how horrific batteries are for the environment post production as well as the whole strip mining thing (where near slave labor is used) and keep in mind it still takes petroleum products to make even an electric car.  All tolled you have to wonder, is it actually better?

So if its not markedly better.  Why?  Control.

Right now most everyone has a gas car that has it’s own power generation unit (an engine) and you can fill it up at any gas station almost all of which are independent.

An electric car does not produce it’s own energy it can only store it.  And to “fill it it up” you must rely on a power grid that is not fully independent and is owned and run by very few large companies (for the most part) who are regulated by the goverment to varying degrees.

I think the idea here is to get everyone on electric to ultimately centrally control how, where and when people can travel because if you violate the rules they just disallow you charging it through a heavily regulated system.

Plus I don’t think “climate change” is anywhere near our gravest concern. We will kill ourselves off with plastic pollution LONG before we get anywhere near a climate deal.  But you don’t hear much about that since it’s not yet possible to grift power or money off it.

I’ve never understood these conspiracies. Why would they do it? What would they benefit from it? And how does it work? How do they control where and when you go out? You can charge your car pretty much everywhere and in 10 years there will be even more options for charging. Do you honestly believe every country in the world is on some shady plan to to use electric vegicles to control people?

True, but it still is a concern so if there are things we can do then why not do it? The effects of climate change are already visible.

Also, climate reasons isn’t the only reason we are switching to electric vehicles. It’s also cheaper than using oil, and we need to keep in mind that oil resources are finite so at some point we need to stop relying on it.

Also, climate reasons isn’t the only reason we are switching to electric vehicles. It’s also cheaper than using oil, and we need to keep in mind that oil resources are finite so at some point we need to stop relying on it.

Since the 70’s, the “experts” have been telling us we only have 10 years of oil left.

Yet, we still have LOTS of oil.  And having more petrolium products recyclable, that goes a long way.

      As for cheaper?

The current infrastructure cannot handle all those home overnight recharging.  Same with the power lines.  They are not designed to handle the load.  So how many BILLIONS much be spend to upgrade that?  You have to include those costs.

And don’t forget the cost of the electric vehicle.  So you might save some at charging it, but over the life of the vehicle you ARE paying MORE in TOTAL costs.

And don’t forget the environmental costs!

It has been proven that with current technology, the environmental cost of the life of an electric vehicle (from design to getting resources mined to construction to maintenance/annual costs to disposal) is WAY MORE bad for the environment that the gas powered vehicle.

So the barrier to get an electric vehicle will force people from owning one, and once gas powered vehicles are banned, those people will be forced to use public transit…. a control mechanism.  And without a car, moving to a new city will become all that more difficult… a control mechanism!

You can’t just pack your car and drive to the beach, or to the mountains.  OH no no no!  And when they ban gas vehicles from even visiting a national park or use on some highways/roadways…. a control mechanism!

“Do you honestly believe every country in the world is on some shady plan to to use electric vegicles to control people?”

No and I never claimed that.  It’s primarily a thing in the west where the WEF/Elites heavily influences policy.

” Why would they do it? What would they benefit from it? And how does it work?”

It will ultimately be about control just like in China where you have a social score and based on that score you are allotted or not allotted access to resources. The entire point is to create a centralized system that can be centrally controlled so that people can be easily denied access to it.

“The effects of climate change are already visible.”

The climate has been changing for 4 billion years being shocked it continues to do so is short sited. I am certain we contribute to the system as we are part of it but to assume we steer that bus so that we can control it in either direction is nothing but hubris.

“It’s also cheaper than using oil”

Well first off, creating an electric car still uses plenty of petroleum products.  It’s simply just not used as the fuel. But where a gas motor generates power, an all electric vehicle only stores it.  That energy comes from somewhere and mostly of the time its not from “green” sources nor is that anywhere close to possible at this time.  Now if we start tossing up nuclear power plants you might have an argument but not until then in my opinion.

But the whole “it’s cheaper” I really don’t believe at all.  Nor do I believe its better for the environment.  It’s just bad in a different way. Batteries, strip mining, and slave labor are just as bad and I wager worse.

Now you mention oil is finite.  I have read some discussion that it might not be.  But let’s just say it is.  Do you think the rare earth minerals used in creating batteries is not finite?  It has already been reasoned that there is not enough rare minerals on the planet to accommodate electric cars for everyone or anywhere even close.

As I started out saying Electric Cars are NOT a solution to anything environmental.
