All right. I’ve said what I wanted to say in the video. I open the floor to discussion!
What I enjoyed about this novel, is that it dealt with “other” powers in the EU.
We heard of Jubba the Hutt, and how Han did some smuggling, but not much ease.
Organizations like the Black Sun, and how the world city worked. And this was before we got to see it in Ep.II, or the remastered ending of Ep.VI.
Definitely worth the read.
@Legatus_Legionis As far as the main storyline goes, I hold it was a missed opportunity to use the Black Sun more. Yeah, we do get more underworld stuff from more EU characters, but Xizor was set up as a good reoccurring nemesis, and it was wasted that he was never brought back to hassle Luke, Leia, and I forgot how it would have been great to have him specifically target Lando since Lando threw the detonator down the shoot.
Look its bee 20+ since I read it; I always believed that Xizor was dead at the end of the book. That is why he never became a main villin in the EU.
they did drop the ball by not using the cartel more.

On page 334, as Vader is watching his victory unfold, one of Xizor’s men is heard over the comms reporting, and right at the end while asking for orders, he goes “Highness?” because Xizor had stopped replying. Then the skyhook is destroyed.
I’ve always interpreted that as Xizor didn’t answer because he managed to get the F out of dodge when he saw the Executor bearing down.
So I’ve always felt Xizor got away, the fact that he wasn’t issuing orders before the skyhook was destroyed showing he had totally bailed before hand.
It’s been a long time since I’ve read this book, so this discussion may be a good reason to read it again.
