Far Cry 5 is currently on sale for 8 bucks in the Playstation Store.
I was thinking about checking it out but considering it’s setting and advertising campaign, I was wondering if it’s 30-50 hours of “All White Southerners are evil.”
Also, being Ubisoft, what kind of monetization does it have going on?
I still have to finish Far Cry Primal
Far Cry 3 is the only one I’ve ever tried.
The heavy focus on crafting mechanics kinda killed it for me.
They are big games
It’d be weird if the plot was 30-50 hours of “all white southerners are evil” given it’s set in Montana.
I thought it was set in a southern state.
Usually if something is a rural setting and dealing with rednecks, it’s set in the southern usa.
Forgive me for making a mistake about a 3 year old game from a franchise I dont know much about.
Either way, you know the point I was getting at.
Is it a bunch of woke trash, like the advertising campaign made it appear to me?
And is it monetized to hell like a lot of Ubisoft games?
I played it to completion. The first three quarters of the game were fine, but I thought the last quarter of the game was awful. Slight spoilers ahead :
You get exposed to an hallucinogen, which caused wild animals to randomly spawn right next to you and start attacking you. Even though they were just in your head, they still did damage to you, so you had to deal with them, which was unbelievably annoying. They forced me to abandon my preferred stealthy playstyle and just complete every mission using a helicopter gunship.
The monetization isn’t as bad as more recent Ubisoft games. They let you buy weapons / vehicles for real money instead of in-game money. I didn’t find the game overly grindy and was able to buy everything I needed with just the in-game money.
