In honor of Capone, what are your favorite films/performances?
I’m assuming you meant ‘gangster films/performances’, and not ‘portrayals of Al Capone’. Personally, Goodfellas is my favorite gangster movie. Something I thought was really interesting about Goodfellas’ production was the occasional ad-lib of dialogue. Apparently, Scorsese rewrote the script based on those ad-libs.
Scarface is the best movie ever made, period.
The Godfather is supreme but if you want a really good movie check out Sean Connery and Kevin Costner in the Untouchables. Great flick.
Either Miller’s Crossing or The Godfather, depending on how I’m feeling on a given day.
Hard to choose a favorite, but you definitely need to watch:
– The Godfather
– Goodfellas
– Casino
– The Untouchables
– Once upon a time in America
– Dannie Brasco
– Scarface
– Carlito’s Way
– Heat
– A Bronx Tale
– The Departed
– The Irishman
– The Professional
– No Country for Old Men
– A History of Violence
– Pulp Fiction
– Reservoir Dogs
– In Bruges
– Snatch
– The Gentlemen
– Revolver (director’s cut)
– Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels
In no particular order, and probably forgot a few, hahaha.

I know Capone gets a lot of crap, but I actually liked it. Yeah, it’s a weird movie. Not your traditional “gangster” film, but that’s what I like about it.
