What AC games have you played and how would you rank them? I havent played them all. So far Odyssey is the best from a gameplay and visual perspective. AC 3 had the best story although I didn’t like the ending with Desmond.. I think Rogue was a bit better when it comes to gameplay and the story was ok but not great. The first couple games I had a hard time playing. The gameplay hasn’t aged well at all. They are really clunky. Black Flag was simular gameplay to Rogue and the ship combat is clunky. Odyssey is way smoother being a much newer game. I’m currently playing AC Unity. It’s good so far. I plan on playing them all. But they take a long time to play.
I haven’t finished Origins, and I have yet to play Odyssey (I play them all in order).
And since we have Valhalla incoming, I recuse myself from answering this until such time as I complete it.
The Ezio Trilogy.
After Revelations, though, I stopped buying the series because it got stale.
I checked out Liberation which was cool at the time but I imagine it’s story would annoy me now. I started Syndicate and thought, “This feels almost exactly like the older games and isn’t as interesting.”, so I never finished.
Apparently, Origins changed the series into an RPG so I bought Odessey and will check out the new style sometime.
I feel wokeness is, probably, what will kill it for me as most AAA release these days feel a need to go heavy woke.
(And 2016 just started again so prepare to have escapism be nonexistent in the mainstream for the next couple years)
The first, I liked we had to think to climb by the good side, the light was very great for a game of this year and even better than every other games light until Unity on PC, I loved the counter system, the sound of the game, it had flow of course like the fact to be ultra repetitve, but be able to hide everywhere by praying was an excellente idea
While both Origins and Odyssey made huge strides forward for the franchise, Assassin’s Creed 2 still reigns as the best in my mind. We got to see a full character arc with Ezio that was only further expanded and improved with Brotherhood and Revelations. He’s still my favorite assassin by far.
I haven’t finished AC 2. I know people love the story. But the gameplay just hasn’t aged all that well. You still like the gameplay? Climbing is clunky.
The climbing is fine. But the combat is fucking horrible. Of course, the combat was horrible when it, originally, came out.
Most people that liked it would admit the combat was trash.
Pretty much spam counter lol
I’m playing through it right now. That’s pretty much it. haha
It’s hard to believe this combat system came out the same year as Arkham Asylum, a combat system so good that every game that isn’t trying to be Dark Souls is trying to be it. haha
Normally I like big open world games, but I can’t get into the AC games at all. I’ve tried 1, 2 & 4 and each time I turned them off after a couple of hours because I found them so damned boring.
I heard that Odyssey was really good, but I refused to buy it after I saw how disgusting the microtransactions were. I imagine Valhalla will be the same way.
On the surface the microtransactions look bad. But honestly they aren’t that bad. You get all the best weapons and armor in game. The microtransactions are for cool looking mounts and stuff. But none of it is necessary. The XP booster is bullshit but I never bought it.
I am an old gamer in the past cool outfit and weapons were rewards for having beat well the game, and I did my best to unlock every outfit, so seeing now that I have to pay to unlock cool stuff or even every outfit possible since itks what I did all my life , piss me off big time !
Fuck Ubi, fuck EA and Fuck naughty dog
Ya I agree but you should still play it.
Tough call, as each one has it’s good and bad points. Over all, the Ezio trilogy is my favorite because of how long we got to play as that character. Three games in which we got to know his history, his beliefs, his views, and for me, it was easier to connect to him than any of the other characters. I cared about Ezio. In terms of historical settings, AC 3 since that dealt with the American Revolution and I loved being able to relive those important events (albeit with creative liberties). Being able to “witness” the Boston Massacre and other significant events was great. AC 4’s pirate ship combat though, hands down some of the most fun mechanics of the entire series.
