Fifth Gear finally dropped Episode 1071

I cannot tell you all how happy I was to FINALLY SEE FIFTH GEAR ANIMATED! How has not one of G+G writers covered this story yet?!

I literally took a whole year to catch up to one piece from where I left off as a young boy of 12 (with all the censorship from Skypiea with an f-u to cartoon network and Disney) and boy, am I glad I did.

Despite al the leg dragging with flashbacks reused animation, and some heartbreaking storytelling, I made it to Wano and we finally got to see everything come together into the Wano arc. Was it worth it?

Hell yes! Don’t get me wrong, I had to speed through episodes doing recap after recap of crap I already saw (if you fast forward through one piece flashbacks, it becomes a lot faster) but when we finally got to the big moment where we see this godly transformation, it turns into a whole new anime, figurative and literal.

The whole animation was literally done by a completely different director and animation to signify how important this part of the story is.

While some fans are saying “the manga did it better” I’m sitting here like a kid watching Goku transform into a Super Saiyan for the first time all over again.

Such a great story. Love it or hate it, Oda knows how to write a good story.
