    @FallenOmegaStar

    Involving myself in like minded small communities like rural areas of my country? It is gonna be hard and as someone who has bad social skills like me when dealing with people, I don’t know how to start this process?

    Smaller communities tend to be closer.

    Neighbours know each other more than in a big city.

    I look down my street.  I know less people than I don’t know.  I know the first names of four people.  A few houses down I have no idea how many people are living there or if they have a pet or kids.

    With less people, going to a store they tend to know you rather than a big store where you are just the next customer-move long.

    So while it is closer-knit community, you might not get all the specialty stores from a big city.

    Alot might be considered a bedroom community (where they live in a smaller community but travel to a close by larger city to work).

    I had a friend who HATED big city living (and could not wait to buy a house in a smaller/satelite town).

    Me, I would miss out of the amenities of a larger city.

    Would I like to live in LA or NY or Toronto?  Hell no.  Too big for me.

    So I should move to….

    So a community like Smallville, that is if it was real or something similar to it.

    With a smaller community, the feelings of social awkwardness should be less, as you will not have as many people to interact with.

    And the odd of making friends should at the same time be up.

    I think if someone here who has moved to a smaller community might be able to explain it better the advantages they experienced moving to such a community.

    My experience is just from one of my friends who did it, and not directly.
