I recall how when the CFL expanded into the USA, their team in Baltimore was originally called The Baltimore Colts, before they were forced to drop the nickname.
For the longest time they where known as the Baltimore CFL’ers before they decided to be called the Baltimore Stallions.
Right now, after the Washington Redskins had to drop its nickname and logo, they are being known as the Washington Football Club.
Or as I see it, the Washington NFL’ers, or better yet:
THE WASHINGTON NFL-WOKE’RS!
They are already using the “W” as a logo on sports sites, so WOKE’RS is perfect!
