High school football team blows out opponent 106-0

The Inglewood Unified School District, which oversees both schools, said in a statement it was “saddened beyond words by the events” in the game. The school district promised a full investigation.

Like why those two teams meet, when obviously the talent levels were so great?

The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section also reprimanded Inglewood.

“The CIF Southern Section expects that all athletic contests are to be conducted under the strictest code of good sportsmanship … a score of 106-0 does not represent these ideals. The CIF-SS condemns, in the strongest terms, results such as these. It is our expectation that the Inglewood administration will work towards putting in place an action plan so that an event such as this does not repeat itself.”

But does not a points for/against come into play when it comes to playoffs/seeding?

And you want the other team to stop playing?  By not giving 100%, you get into bad habits and potential injuries for being careless.

    Is that what you want?

The schools are located roughly three miles apart not far from Los Angeles International Airport. Morningside’s season is over at 2-8 and Inglewood (8-0) will play in the Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

So this game meant alot to Inglewood.

Inglewood led 59-0 after the first quarter…

Then there should have been in the rule book about the game being called, if the point spread got so great.

Seven Inglewood players, all transfers, are committed to play college football, per the Times.

So these players WANT to do their best so they can succeed at the next level.

Guess the CIF-SS does not want players to be successful in their future career.  How sad is that.
