I can find obvious and direct examples at least as far back as the 80’s.
For example this movie here. “Hiding Out”
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093186/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Typical 80’s movie, not bad, I have watched it a few times. But there is a moment when the guy who is hiding out in a high school is in a class (Biology maybe or sex ed) and the teacher makes a remark that sex is a spectrum everyone is on because everyone has had gay feelings.
Sound familiar?
This isn’t a movie, but on the old Carol Burnett Show, there was a repeated skit, a soap opera parody called As The Stomach Turns. For these skits, Harvey Corman played the head of a theater, a man named Gaylord, and who was clearly gay. It was comedic, and his sissy-acting was meant to be laughed at, but recently seeing that, it is a bit strange to see even that as far back as roughly 50 years ago.
So that’s even further back as that was the 70’s if I recall. That was actually a great show.
EDIT – I ran across this by accident. Is this just a coincidence? You decide. KD Lang was involved in a song for the movie “Hiding out”. Many of you might be too young to remember but she was a gender bending outspoken lesbian popular in the 80’s/90’s. I am not trying to disparage her character at all. I am just stating her position in the media at that time.
Oldest Sex scene 1933.
Propaganda wise late 1930’s Germany made some directly targeting Gays as bad and Straight German as a DUTY.
Before TV There are books Centuries old about it.
I mean come on Sex has been the greatest weapon since the Apple… We all know Eve said “You NO Biting this, You NO getting thIS”
HA!
I see your point but I was really specifically talking about Hollywood in it’s current incarnation.
40’S with propaganda films for sure.
Heck lots of early TV had it, they were just really good at hiding it to bypass censors.
When I was a kid in the early 80s, I remember some TV ads for a movie called “Zorro The Gay Blade”. As a kid at that time, I was a fan of characters like The Lone Ranger and Zorro, and had no idea what “gay” meant.
I think there was another movie about that time or a bit later, “The World According to Garp”.
It even found its way into “Blazing Saddles”, if you remember the French Mistake scene.
@Audie, the Blazing Saddles scene had nothing to do with anything more than Mel, being Mel, he did it because, oh hell I will let him explain it. https://youtu.be/0heAWRQYNVg
The more I think about all of this and stuff like the Disney thing. The more I think they are recruiting as much as grooming. How horrifying a thought.
Well lets just say I see a guy going in the bathroom with my Grand daughter, I have lived a very happy full life. I will have no regret making sure she is safe and has the same opportunity.
Maybe the old movie that’s done more than any other to push and popularize the agenda is the cult classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Lots of college-age kids got their minds filled with the agenda at midnight showings of this movie, and I can’t but think it’s had an effect on them.
