Tagged: Diablo4, playstation5
So I have been playing Diablo 4 on the Playstation 5 since the betas & since launch June 1st. Honestly, the game ran perfectly on the PS5…until middle of July when they released some Nerfs then Buffs. Since that day, 1 in 4 days will have terrible lag. Originally I read lots of complaints about lag on PC but Consoles were smooth. I guess Blizzard had to level the experience for everybody so we can all play in lag Hell lol
So a couple of days ago I sat down to play with the latest patch: 1.1.1 I played for about 2hrs & I had over 30 minutes of footage of terrible lag. If you don’t know what lag is on an ALWAYS ONLINE game like Diablo 4:
The enemies stop attacking & stay in idle animation, you can move around as you like, you will get slingshotted backwards, then when the lag is over you often times meet certain doom because you had no idea but the enemies were attacking you en mass & then you will be teleported around the map based on your movement inputs during the lag. It’s insane. I mean I could describe it all to you as abstract thought, but watch the video & you will see what I mean. I added a bunch of clip appropriate gif memes. It’s unreal. Also strangely Youtube is suggesting this Diablo 4 video, none of my other D4 videos had been suggested, with the exception of review vids. Hopefully this keeps going because I have a Silent Hill Campfire Chat video coming out tomorrow.
Is it worth playing overall though despite it coming from a woke company?
It is worth playing. But honestly I find myself thinking of it less & less fondness. The season is very lackluster. I feel like I am playing it mostly to advance & unlock my seasonal rewards, not because I want to play the game.
Buy it on sale, you will have fun until you get over 100 hours in. I am not a hardcore Diablo player, but I am also not a casual. I did love Diablo 3 & played that one for fun & racked up 2000 hours.
I have watched a number of folks play this and for me it looks no different than Diablo 2 or 3 outside of graphical refinements. I might be wrong but it seems boring, repetitive and shallow. Maybe the story is good? That might drag me in I am a succor for a good story.
My favorite game of this genre has been Grim Dawn.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I mean that’s a given with repetition in Diablo. It’s always been a game where you grind levels, but with diablo 1 being more tame than the rest of the series.</p>
I’m more interested in just playing because of Diablo 4’s timeless gameplay, but don’t really feel like investing in a game that may push a narrative. I’m staving off the purchase until I see if someone who has played it seen any excessive narratives out in place.
@salvince if by “excessive narratives out in place” you men social political or woke stuff, then my answer to you is YES. I haven’t seen anybody talk about it but YES!
If you pay attention to the characters, male characters are mostly emotional or supportive with some exceptions. Meanwhile most of the Warriors or Strong characters in the game are Females. You won’t know this unless you saw end game footage like what I am currently working on but the game completely shifts after you beat Lilith. Nyrel, the young female 4th party character becomes the focal point of the rest of the game that lasts for 1hr of Exposition & building up her character to make her look like the Lead side character either for the Expansion or Diablo 5.
I honestly did not care about her at all, I don’t mean I didn’t like her, I mean I never thought about her until she would show up. Lorath I thought about, Elias I thought about, but not Nyrel.
If you play the game you will notice the strong female presence of the game. I had zero problem with Lilith being the Antagonist of the game, she is an over powered Demon Queen, right.
@vknid The story is good, but the end game felt rushed to me. I wanted more with Elias & I definitely wanted more with Inarius & Lilith, because they are both completely dropped at the end of the game in favor of focusing on Nyrel as mention above.
I’m going to be working on my end game video thoughts shortly. I don’t know why people aren’t talking about the end game let down.
@GiggaVega See, that is exactly what I was worried about because the trailer made me concerned and very much disappoints me because I was hoping the game would just be good, but they had to push the “strong wah-men” narrative which completely sucks.
What happened to just making a game good with open story telling? But no, they had to push the feminist BS. Diablo 4 is dead to me. I have no motivation to buy it now. I was already on the fence about season passes, now I know Diablo 3 is the last respectable game in the series. It was good while it lasted.
I’m sure there’s tons of woke losers who will call me sexist, but really there was no reason to push this narrative in the games when you just needed to follow good story telling and leave the gender ideology out of it.
