Yeah, I saw EVS’ video last night. As stated in a previous thread I was interested in this game, sort of, but this kinda dashed all desire to play it.

If that epic no talent bitch likes it, there must be something wrong with it…and that writer EVS showed on the game…ugh…

Probably a hard pass, now.

What Gail Simone says it Twitter doesnt have to reflect what’s gonna be in the game.
Yes, I’m aware of the lead directors or whatever’s politics.
Spoiler alert, the people that make the shit you like, usually, have those same politics.
When I see something actually woke, I’ll be concerned.

As far as looking around twitter to find something just so I scream, “THIS IS WOKE! CANCEL IT!”, fuck that shit.
Right wing cancel culture scum is just as bad as left wing cancel culture scum.

As far as EVS goes. I am a fan but he has a lot of, potential, monetary gain from turning more people against DC and Marvel comics.

He gets whatever indiegogo doesnt for his personal projects.
Which do you think is more profitable to him?
EVS is cool but, lets not get it twisted, he is a skillful, charismatic, salesman that will, eagerly,  slander the competition to get a sale, even if there’s no real truth to it.

Not saying the game will be woke trash but someone mouthing off on twitter doesnt prove it will be. In Gail Simone’s case, she’s not involved in the project, who cares what she has to say about it?

All I’ve seen so far is the opposite of woke.  You can play as any character you want at any time (meaning, you never have to be Batgirl) and none of the main characters were race or gender swapped.  They also chose to make Barbara Batgirl instead of Cassandra Cain. Cassandra Cain Batgirl and Barbara Gordon Oracle would been the way to go for maximum wokeness  (Handicapped and Asian representation).

Unless I see something in the game, itself, that is woke OR creatives involved attacking the fans for not liking certain aspects, I’m not getting on the hate train.
Right Wing Cancel Culture = Left Wing Cancel Culture.

If black racists are anti-racist and if anti-male feminists are anti-misogynist then right-wing cancel culture is anti-cancel culture.

I’m not really quite sure if it’s the same thing.

Granted, right-wing warriors overreacting can be kinda be cringe, but they’re not calling for anyone to be fired, censored and essentially erased. They’re just complaining that something doesn’t line up with their politics and choosing not to buy it. That’s not cancelling, that’s boycotting. Perhaps an ineffectual boycott, but it’s still a legitimate form of protest.

And most gamers aren’t even all that right-wing; they’re just so tired of being inundated with hard-left social politics that after so many years of enduring it, some of them have started to see it in low-key ways, whether real or imagined. I would urge them to exercise more restraint and think over if something that bothers them is worth complaining about, though, because it’s been a tactic of the Left for decades to bait their opposition into attacking something and then make them look foolish.

Personally I don’t think Gail Simone’s endorsement alone is going to be an indicator that the game will be woke. For all we know she’s excited over the game featuring something that’s not related to politics, like, I dunno, Harley Quinn riding a pogo stick. Perhaps the game will be 99% fine only for one of the writers will sneak in come cringe dialogue that doesn’t really impact the rest of the game, perhaps not. We won’t know until the game comes out. And if the last decade taught us anything, it’s not to pre-order anything from the AAA industry, anymore.
