Tagged: virus mask COVID
Hello. I’m new here.
From what I’ve seen of this virus, for the vast majority of people it’s not deadly. I’ve even talked in person to a married couple that had it, and they recovered in a span of 1-2 weeks at home. Granted, they are both in their early 30s probably and relatively healthy.
So why can’t most of us go outside and enjoy life? Those afraid can stay home.
Right now, there is not a lot to enjoy. Stores and restaurants close earlier. Theme parks require masks and probably have a lot more restrictions. Las Vegas hotels/casinos are struggling to stay reopen and require masks. There are no concerts or shows going on. Very few sports events with people (I think I saw NASCAR allow fans in).
There are no anime, video game or comic cons to attend for the next few months. Even when they return, I imagine they will implement insane social distancing restrictions and mask mandates that will take the life and soul out of those events.
Yes, I’m against the mask mandates. As a former asthma sufferer, it makes zero sense to put a cloth in front of my nose and mouth. I can last maybe 10-15 minutes before I feel like I’m suffocating.
This is all insane. We would all be better off if everything would open up again and mask mandates were repealed. At least the economy would recover and we’d have sports games, concerts and nerd cons to look forward to, rather than a lifeless existence avoiding the virus.
Should we still wash our hands and practice good hygiene? Sure. I have nothing against living a cleaner life. But humans weren’t meant to not interact with each other and I feel liberals have taken this too far and want us to live under our beds in fear. I can shake hands with people in my church group and feel the risk is minimal as long as I’m not shaking hands with someone visibly sick.
Life is too short to live in fear.
