@comicsgate : Obi Wan and Bob Fett were huge disappointments.
I am actually excited for the Tales show. I love Ahoska and Qui Gon. Andor looks good too, I like political intrigue, despite what some of the actors are saying about comparing the Empire to Trump it could still be good. Mando Season 3 will be great I am sure.
@DarthVengeant Out of all of them, Andor might be good. I reserve commentary, but fans are fans and can like anything they want, for whatever reason. I saw your comments on Cobra Kai and I am spellbound how good that show is, with the writing and the characters. The fight in Terry Silver’s house with the epic music, and the feeling that all was lost was good. I also liked Daniel’s daughter in the pod scene, and the scene with John Kreese, when he has a breakthrough in prison. Those cutaway shots to other people in their lives was excellent. Cobra Kai is like the anti-Disney in that it is done with almost no budget, whereas Disney really hits you with the Industrial Light and Magic.
No matter how bad things are, there are some good shows out there, but you have to know what you like and might have to dig. I mainly agree with the critics, but at least Star Wars seems to be trying, whereas Marvel looks like they have abandoned trying to be serious in any way, although they did have a Secret Invasion trailer and one for Werewolf By Night. They seem to be really reaching and grasping at the fringes for content.
Good point about political intrigue. At the time, I did not like the prequels, but the story of the takeover of the Senate from within was actually quite good, looking back. It stuck with me, that story. I think the obsession with Trump is a distraction from the real Sith or HYDRA in our governments in the west and what they are calling The GREAT Reset, even though it is just austerity.

Star Wars “Skeleton Crew” with Jude Law. I like the title and the actor, but know nothing further about it.
I guess there is one called “The Acolyte” with Daisy Ridley too? https://www.cbr.com/star-wars-the-acolyte-amazing-daisy-ridley/
Created by Leslye Headland, The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller about a former Padawan who teams up with her old Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. Set before the prequels at the end of the High Republic era, it takes viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set nine years after the battle of Yavin. For those unfamiliar with the ever-growing Star Wars timeline, this is five years after Return of the Jedi and starting at almost the same time as Season 1 of The Mandalorian. For those concerned that the show may be meant just for children, creator Jon Watts has already assured audiences that this “will not be a kid’s show.”
that the show is “a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.” The show is primarily about a group of four different children from a previously unknown planet who somehow get lost inside the Star Wars galaxy we all know and love.
There’s plenty of good pre-disney SW books and video games. Everything post was trash (with the exception perhaps of Fallen Jedi, Battlefront 2 and the last 30 minutes of Rogue One)
All George Lucas’ approved EU (Extended Universe) then of course it is good Star Wars.
I just saw the Ashoka trailer and I WANT to love it but the trailer was running for quite awhile before I saw a male character. I’m hoping it’s not more of the same as I love the Ahsoka character. I hope it’s not the same argument that they had to bring in more woman characters because there weren’t enough strong characters in star wars . But I always respond with Leia, Mara, Mon Mothma, Natasi Daala, aura Sing, darth Zannah, Ventress, etc etc
AS someone mentioned elsewhere, while all these “projects” were announce (and like many before them – cancelled before they were made), these projects also were not given a release date.
Why?
Cause KK needs something “positive”.
Oh look! We have “no source material” and yet we will bastardize Thrawn and the Heir to the Empire in the hopes the real Star Wars (EU) Canon fans will return and worship her “force is female/feminists” BS.
And KK is double/tripling done on her Mary Sue, the bestest evar, Rey Palpatine. She is so great, untrained she beat all before her, and was so grate she STOLE the Skywalker name as a slap to the face to the Skywalker story which is Star Wars.
As a famous saying states:
It’s DEAD, Jim!
I’m surprised Ms Kennedy still has a job at LucasFilm considering what she’s done to Star Wars, Willow and soon Indy 5. Sure there’s been some decent Star Wars stuff from Disney such as ‘Rogue One’, ‘Jedi: Fallen Order’ and the first two seasons of the Mandalorian but most of it has been pretty dead. Them announcing another Rey film is them committing suicide.
Ya, there have been rumors of KK’s removal for years, and she is still there. I got sick of hearing every few weeks an new rumor of her being fired, or removed, or quitting, etc. It got ridiculous. The new final rumor is that she will step-down after Indy 5 comes out. We can hope so. But, will it really change anything? Disney is hell bent on being woke and promoting identity politics. So, I seriously doubt any new leadership will change much for us fans getting better Star Wars, or more of what we want.
I greatly enjoyed Andor, a lot. I have enjoyed Mando up until this new season where it has fallen way off the quality map. The writing has been bad and the story is going nowhere fast. Especially this last episode, it was absolutely horrible. Jack Black, Lizzo, and Christopher Lloyd. WHY? Utterly pointless characters forcing Mando to do a side quest, on a side quest. They also had Grogu being “knighted”…but isn’t that an EARTH custom? Why is that in a Star Wars show? The last 5 min were awesome, but the rest of the episode was complete garbage. Right up there with Picard Season 1 and 2. It was just freakin’ horrible. This new season is just FULL of filler pointless nonsense that goes nowhere. The plot has taken 6 episodes to get anywhere and supposedly the last two episodes of the season will be bangers. So, why have 8 episodes then? What exactly is the point in making 75% of your season filler? Make it 4 episodes and make them all good, and MAKE THEM LONGER THAN 30 freakin’ MIN with 5 min of stuff that actually matters!!! Anyway….
The Ahsoka trailer is cool, even more so the Extended trailer you can only find from a cell phone leak of it. I have anticipation for that, partly because Ahsoka is one of my fav characters in all of Star Wars. I loved Clone Wars and Rebels. And dear god did they NAIL the character Sabine in who they chose to play her. If there is anything announced or shown that I think will be good, it is Ahsoka.
Acolyte. Ya. So much bad vibes because of WHO is making that show, that being a feminist who worked for Harvey Weinstein. I mean, the footage I saw (leaked) seemed interesting, but I don’t have much hope at all for that one.
As far as all the other announcements. Ya, we’ll see if any of them actually get to production (well, I am sure the Dave Filoni movie will). I don’t care about Rey, and especially the ACTIVIST woman who will the direct the movie.
From what I have noticed in all of this is that everything seems VERY female centric now. And, I don’t find that a positive. Any men in stuff are bad guys. Thrawn, the bad guy in the Ahsoka trailer, etc. Mando is almost a side kick on his own show now.
Let’s face it. Much of Hollywood care nothing for making entertainment all they care about is making propaganda. So you cannot be shocked when you don’t enjoy their products. They get so much money from outside sources they don’t need to be profitable on their own. For example Twitter. Not Hollywood I know. But prior to Musk they lost money. So how did they stay afloat? They got outside investments from organizations interested in controlling the narrative. Hollywood and other orgs like Marvel are no different.
@Vknid : Disney isn’t doing well, at all. And their WOKE nonsense is a big reason why. And, it’s a bout time. Their “outside investors” have stopped or pulled back, that’s why they are laying off 7000 employee’s. Even in the recent investors skype call people were going after Bob Iger about the wokeness and other nonsense causing the decline in Disney. Now they are going to have to pay taxes in Florida too because they tried butting there nose in politics where it doesn’t belong.
I would be dancing in the streets if Disney went bankrupt.
The thing is, I am not sure these companies that get investment money from Blackrock and Vanguard care about doing well. They will get enough cash from those 2 companies alone to make it worth keeping the propaganda flowing. That is why so many companies are going woke they are chasing the investment dollars and to get them you have to conform to the whole ESG thing.
