Why… WHY!!!!!
… I have’t even plucked up the courage to attemp to watch the Winx reboot, and now this crap comes out 🤯💩
Ok, to be fair, i can’t say anything about the story or acting as the show doesn’t even have a trailer yet, but i can say:
1) The costumes suck!
2) Why are professor Utonium and Buttercup black? I just want a reason, were they the best actors for the job?
3) The Riverdale treatment… In all honesty, i actually like Riverdale, and would have no problem with a darker Powerpuff Girls story, so long as the story is good, and based on the short summary of the story in Clownfish TV’s video, i don’t have high hopes, and if they wanted to do a dark version of Powerpuff Girls, why didn’t they give them dark edgy costumes?!
I’m not even a hard core Powerpuff Girls fan, and this is annoying the shit outta me

I was never really into Powerpuff Girls but it was quite funny during its heyday. Who knows, maybe this’ll turn out like the Sonic movie and surprise everyone but let’s not get our hopes up.

Power Puff Girls has a fond place in my heart, because it was part of that first wave of original Cartoon Network productions back when all they wanted to do was make fun cartoons.
Now, I love me some Chloe Bennet and Dove Cameron…smokin’ hot, and I’ve always been a fan of Donald Faison since Scrubs…
…but I decided weeks ago that this was going to be super woke (especially considering the bitch playing Buttercup) so I decided not to not watch it nor really pay attention to it.
Hell, I’m not even going to cover its news because even though I’m not afraid of an SJW assault on my channel, something tells me if I go after this one I’ll draw more of them than my channel can handle at this time. I have no problem swatting away Disney Star Wars fans, because I am fully equipped to kick them in the balls, or something like Brie Bots, because that’s plain fun.
But like I said, I have a feeling if I took shots at this show with my channel being at such a low level, I might pick a fight that would overwhelm my channel at this stage.

that cartoon network era was just amazing. johnny bravo, dexter laboratory, power puff girls, courage dog…
but yeah, ofc I won’t watch this, it’s CW… i prefer have the original power puff girls image intact on my childhood memories. lol buttercup was a bad ass girl btw :D long before the strong and brave modern feminist toxic waves.

Of course it has to be some stupid deconstruct or “things are bad now” with this “adult” version of Powerpuff Girls. I swear, the Western media can’t make anything good to save their selves. They’re just shit for the birds.

Was never into the Powerpuff Girls as a kid despite growing up in the 90’s. I would’ve had no issues with the darker/mature storyline and cast (Dove Cameron is the only one I’m familiar with and is a talented actress). However, it’s everything else in between that I’ve a problem with sadly. I would’ve liked to have had a Dexter’s Laboratory live action show along the same lines but I wouldn’t want it near CW.
The costumes look accurate to me but…they look cheep to the point where I could easily get them in Primark, Top Shop or Marks and Spencer😅

The costumes are accurate, if the Powerpuff Girls were still little girls, but they want to make a show about the Powerpuff Girls when they’re in their 20s, it doesn’t make sense for them to still have the same costumes they had when they were 5, part of growing up is that you mature, evolve, especially with the story they want to tell, if the Powerpuff Girls aren’t happy about growing up as superheroes, why would they want to keep the same costumes from that time?

You’ve a good point there. It doesn’t make any sense. Unless the costumes were supposed to look cheep and they’re adding special effects to them? Maybe a Sailor Moon style level-up transformation into new costumes? Just a guess.

@DragonLady, yes that would make a lot more sense, there are a lot of movies and TV shows that enhance costumes with special effects
I don’t really watch Sailor Moon, but I get what you mean
I was thinking, if there had to be a reason why they still have the same costumes as when they were kids, maybe their costumes come from a magical girl transformation, like Pretty Cure, but even in Pretty Cure, as they grow up, their magical costumes change, even though there are similarities
