Sadly, this version is a disappointment. Most notably the censorship/removal of Mario’s iconic, homophobic slur “so long, GAY BOWSER”. Mario has never given a single fuck, and now they try to make him some kind of kneebending ally of the alphabet community? Bowser always been gay af, so why not call him gay when you wreck his ass? Because the bad guys can’t be gay these days?
And really it isn’t even homophobic at all, Bowser is a gay ICON! So removing that label from King Koopa himself really just subtracts from the representation of a marginalized group.
