The Matrix Resurrections – Cool Trailer, But Why Now?
The Critical Drinker
So we’re getting a fourth Matrix movie, apparently. Nearly 20 years after the original trilogy ended. Grab your red pills and join me as I break down the trailer, and my thoughts on the upcoming movie.
If this is anything like Star Wars, TFA, then why even bother? If this is more of the same, then I really wish at least the graphic novel rights to The Matrix could be signed over to Tom Bilyeu to see what he would have done. LOL at Drinker theory that it will be female empowerment movie and that Trinity was “the One” all along.
I remember the letdown in the theater as fans realized the new Star Wars was almost exactly the same as what they saw before. What an awful feeling that was. It was as if Hollywood was showing how lazy they are and that they tricked fans out of money.
The past ten years have shown us that sequels and reboots after ten years should be looked on with some skepticism. I don’t think this should be looked at in any different way. And this phenomenon has been going on even longer just in the form of remakes. If you pay attention, you’ll notice that remakes are conveniently timed when parents have children the age they saw the first movie. The same exact thing with many of these sequels.
I don’t have much hope for this movie, but I am not saying that to bash this movie specifically. Mainstream art is sanitized and by-number in almost all cases, from music, to books, to movies. TV had a short window where it looked like we were heading into a golden age, but it was a golden age that was short-lived.
Maybe this movie will be great. It might not even be terrible. It might just be a tepid showing. But we’ll see.
NEO is NOT in The Matrix? HUGE PLOT REVEAL | official synopsis EXPLAINED
Matrix Explained
MATRIX 4: Who REALLY is NEO’s Therapist?
Matrix Explained
Not bad, I do not pick up on those colors of glasses and in symbolism many times. I wish I was even more aware of persuasion techniques, because they really do work. They are even better when subtle. So, you can see in these pictures, therapist has blue glasses while oracle lady has red glasses.
MATRIX 4:This Could Change Everything! THE ORACLE?
Matrix Explained
The role of Neo was specifically written for Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee’s son), unfortunately he tragically died just before. Hence all the martial arts in the movie. But Keanu Reeves was excellent in his own right.
Her name is Bugs. Bugs could mean computer bugs or Bugs Bunny due to the white rabbit tattoo. Pickup up fem vibes on this. Blue hair could be from a Ghost in the Shell character.
I still think graphic novel rights should be licensed to Tom Bilyeu.
MATRIX 4 New Morpheus’ HUGE SECRET | Theory
These theories or speculations would make good “what if” type story lines.
Morpheus was a good guy. He represents blind faith. Faith in his Messiah (Neo). He may be misguided by The Oracle but he is also extremely wise. He is almost a fanatic, or a zealot. Also remember, at no point are we shown that Morpheus was told directly by the Oracle about the prophecy. He in fact only ever says that The Oracle told him he would find the One. He also tells Neo that his knowledge came from a previous One, who freed the first of the humans (or so Morpheus thinks) and taught them the truth. Morpheus understands choice. Far more than any other free human. He consults The Oracle program to gain insight into the end results of choices humans around him will make, as he knows she will be able to see the outcome. He even tells Neo, that what she tells him, is for him alone, and that she will only show Neo certain paths, or doors. But he would be the one who has to decide to go through them. That is a very good understanding of the Oracle in my eyes. He is also aware that she is a program, so he is at least open to some form of co operation with the machines. Morpheus is also apologetic to Neo, when he frees him, stating that it is dangerous at Neo’s age and his mind could struggle with the truth, but he had to do it as he truly believes Neo is the One.
Your premise doesn’t make sense
If the machines always made Morpheus, how does that explain the fact in the original trilogy, he had a real human body? They didn’t always have him, and there is no evidence to suggest that they did, because we never saw what the prievious Ones did. No doubt that they did have a prophet, but they didn’t have a Morpheus until the original trilogy, and he even speaks about having woken up in the machine fields, which would be impossible if he was a program
Also, the first One awakened his powers on his own, and started freeing minds WITHOUT A MORPHEUS
Neo would have noticed he was a program, and Smith wouldn’t have to kidnap him to hack his brain if he was just a program
I am pretty sure the machines are studying Neo. He his a programmer in this big company and his “boss” offers him a chance to create a new video game. The machines will be watching what he will create in this video game. I’m pretty sure that the “going back to the matrix” quote is actually refering that he’s going back to work on this bug game project… called The Matrix.
In the original script for Matrix 2, it was revealed that the machine actually used humans to create the Matrix, and that the company Neo was working for actually created the Matrix, thus Neo actually having been responsible for the creation of the Matrix, or a portion of it. It could well be that the machines lack the creativity required to create it themselves so they are pretty much required to use humans for this task. This in turn would also at least partly explain why Neo can bend the Matrix to his will, since, well, who but the creator of an invention knows how it really works?
It could well be that they picked up that old idea in the 4th movie.
Since we’re at the point of crazy theories, here’s another one: Architect and Oracle are playing an ancient game of psychology against each other, using humans, machines and programs alike. Their different philosophies is that the Oracle wants to prove that the way to harmony and perfection is by emotion because without emotion and compassion there is no harmony, the Architect trying to show that emotions lead to strive and fighting and only pure logic can lead to a harmonious existence.
Everything we have seen so far is in a simulation, and the only two who actually know that it’s all “just a game” are those two. Everyone else is merely a tool to them, a character in a play, a piece on the chessboard. And that in turn means that nothing anyone wants to accomplish has meaning, unless either of them attributes meaning to it.
The interesting part would be what happens when the chess pieces realize that they are just used for a game.
For me, it’s all about Smith. He really is one the best movie villains of all time IMO. Not having Smith in the Matrix is about as big as Darth Vader not being in Star Wars. You just gotta have him! And how awesome would it be if Hugo Weaving indeed made a surprise cameo!? OMG just getting excited thinking about it!
feel in my bones that Lawrence Fishburne will be in the movie. It just seems too weird the way he keeps saying he wasn’t contacted, or invited back. I think it’s the big secret, and he is most likely lying. I could be wrong, but I hope not. I don’t see anyone else playing Morpheus
these are just rumours I have heard…the Frenchman is desgised as the Hobo, Smith is a nerfed ( re-skinned like the Oracle as the “Back to the Matrix” guy) who works with the Frenchman…Young Morphus is a double agent who could perhaps be the most interesting “Whats he ganna do character’…Doo-gee How-zar is the NEW Big Bad…
Smith is done. New villian coming. That morpheus is a machine. I have to say this on most videos. Dammit.

I reckon it is going to be a new Matrix created by the machines that contains the events of the previous three films as in-universe movies to try and keep the population subdued and make the Matrix a conspiracy theory within the new Matrix and that will be the stupid reason for them saying it is not a sequel, because for some reason studios seem to think that is a selling point these day!
It’s honestly kinda brilliant what their doing here, literally rebooting the Matrix server and the franchise at the same time, it’s really cool.
