I hope nothing bad happens to Bill. I like him as a actor. Yeah from what I’ve seen image-wise of ‘The Crow’ (I’ve never seen the original film) it’s got a very gothic feel to it. Sort of like a Tim Burton horror film (think his excellent take on ‘Sleepy Hollow’ which is the closest that we’ll ever get to a live action remake of Disney’s ‘Sleepy Hollow’ without Disney😂. Or at least on the bridge scene half way through the film). That’s one thing I miss with so many of today’s horror films; NO GOTHIC VIBES TO THEM😭! Last one I saw like that was ‘Crimson Peak’ and that was nearly ten years ago. It was a good film and I loved the gothic horror atmosphere to it.

Never seen Bill in anything, but suddenly, he is really standing out to me. Barbarian was the one that initially kind of got me interested. Guess he’s going to be in Boy Kills World, Crow and Nosferatu. Nosteratu is done by Eggers, a director I am kind of interested in as well. Not sure if either one has really broke out yet.

Nosferatu is an upcoming American gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers, and starring Bill Skarsgård as the titular vampire. Following Nosferatu the Vampyre, it is the second remake of the 1922 German Expressionist film of the same name written by Henrik Galeen and directed by F. W. Murnau, which in turn is an “unauthorized and unofficial” adaptation of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula.
    No trailer yet.

Skarsgård stars as “Boy” who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.

This video game voice gag will make or break this movie. Could be funny.

Alien : Romulus teaser trailer. WOW! Probably the best trailer I have seen in years. They did so much in just 1 min. I got goosebumps. They nailed the cinematography, imagery, sound design, and aesthetic. I really hope this movie is good, because the past few Alien movies have been….not so good.

First Alien trailer in a long while that actually looks at least decent. But that final shot just doesn’t sell me on the new Ripley, the shot just looks too clean, too much post processing, the wardrobe isn’t gritty enough, the corridor is sparkling clean. Sure it’s dark, but these clean corridors with shiny pipes and intense lighting generated in 3d is just so tired at this point. I’d love to see them try to create some innovative takes on what a 3d corridor might look like that isn’t created with basic shapes in some rendering software.

Something that was so great about the first alien was how real it all felt, it seemed like you could have been there with them on this cramped space ship, there was grime in the corners of the room, finger prints on the glasses.

This feels too much like a movie set, with people wearing outfits that were just sewn up and perfectly measured, perfectly fabricated and has that super suave future look, and that kinda kills the feeling that these people are trapped on a spaceship running for their lives.

This is when everything is designed in a way as to mix well with lots of CGI, EVERYTHING is shiny, EVERYTHING is clean, EVERYTHING feels kinda artificial. The cast also feels kinda generic, not really seeing the kind of star power this movie needs.

Lot of criticism without seeing much though, we’ll see how it goes. Just been burned so many times by this franchise and predator it’s hard to give them the benefit of the doubt any more.

    The Black Trailer is here.

    #HOTDS2 premieres June 16 on Max. #TeamBlack

The new trailers ask fans to pick a side in the ongoing civil war between Green and Black Councils that are fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story.

I typed in Green v Black and got results for Green or Black Tea.

    Ortega the draw here now.

Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

Michigan, 1963. Kellogg’s and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast. A tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen, Unfrosted stars Jerry Seinfeld in his directorial debut.

Unfrosted is coming to Netflix on May 3.

This entire movie is just Jerry making a “What’s the deal with Pop Tarts?” joke.

Reminds me a bit of The Founder with Michael Keaton, which I saw in theaters.
I like stories about American business history. Enjoyed Ford Vs. Ferrari, too.
Not USA, but one of the best recent movies I saw was Tetris.

    From DreamWorks Animation
    Release date. September 20, 2024

The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

A powerful story about the discovery of self, a thrilling examination of the bridge between technology and nature and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.

Good effects and shots of the creatures and animals. In Swedish though, so I do not know this story.

This year we welcome back the beloved Swedish fantasy-tale of Ronja the Robber’s Daughter – following Ronja as she grows up and discovers the magical, yet dangerous forest with its mysterious creatures. When Ronja meets the young boy Birk from a rival gang, it marks the beginning of a dark family feud and a forbidden friendship emerges, all while a notorious bailiff arrives to rid the forest of robbers once and for all.

Writer Hans Rosenfeldt, director Lisa James Larsson and producers Bonnie Skoog Feeney & Mattias Arehn have transformed the story of Ronja based on the Astrid Lindgren book. The series will be released in two parts, with Part 1 (episode 1-6) launching on March 28, followed by Part 2 (episode 7-12) later in 2024.
So, I guess it releases today.

Cautiously anticipating Alien: Romulus – the trailer suggests a genuine return to the franchise’s roots but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Not a fan of Jerry Seinfeld but Unfrosted looks like a hoot.

Netflix is killing it lately…lots of good trailers there, hope the movies do them justice.

    @Maverick

There’s a lot of really good foreign dramas on Netflix especially in the TV department. I’ve been watching ‘Love Between Fairy and Devil’ (a Chinese fantasy/romance drama), ‘My Dear Warrior’ (a fantasy drama from Thailand) and ‘The Uncanny Counter’ (a supernatural K-Drama that I can only describe as “If the Ghostbusters had supernatural powers”😂).
