Kind of reminds me a bit of Arachnophobia. There is one funny shot of a shadow of a house plant that they think is a spider.
One cold, stormy night in New York City, a mysterious object falls from the sky and smashes through the window of a rundown apartment building. It is an egg, and from this egg emerges a strange little spider…The creature is discovered by Charlotte, a rebellious 12-year-old girl obsessed with comic books. Despite her stepfather Ethan’s best efforts to connect with her through their comic book co-creation Fang Girl, Charlotte feels isolated. Her mother and Ethan are distracted by their new baby and are struggling to cope, leaving Charlotte to bond with the spider. Keeping it as a secret pet, she names it Sting.
As Charlotte’s fascination with Sting increases, so does its size. Growing at a monstrous rate, Sting’s appetite for blood becomes insatiable. Neighbours’ pets start to go missing, and then the neighbours themselves. Soon Charlotte’s family and the eccentric characters of the building realise that they are all trapped, hunted by a ravenous supersized arachnid with a taste for human flesh… and Charlotte is the only one who knows how to stop it.
Looking forward to this if only for Joaquin’s performance.
I’m looking forward to seeing the left freak out over it like they did with the last one. “Many walked out in the UK cinema over it!” Meanwhile, no-one walked out when I saw Joker at the cinema. Twice.
Josh Hartnett. Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time.
Trap
Upcoming film directed by M. Night Shyamalan
A father and teen daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event.
Pictures on August 9, 2024.
I’ve not clicked on it because I don’t trust Disney with this. Until I hear that it’s still rated a 15 an they’ve NOT dumbed it down or put woke BS in it then I won’t be watching Deadpool 3. They lost me the moment Disney bought FOX and on the last trailer when the TVA from Loki was featured in it.
Appreciate people like you the most. Can’t be said enough, Stop giving Hollywood your money. Saying NO to TV/Hollywood is always the right call. Appreciate your will power. My attitude is the same on other things. Hugh still has it. He’s delivered over and over again. Ryan and him play straight man and comedian surprisingly well.
Some guy out there floating a rumor that he wants to see Taylor Swift as Dazzler in a cameo role.
Kinda funny. Guy says dump Feige and put Reynolds in charge. Another asks why we never got Hulk vs. Wolverine? Agree with you though, gonna take something to ever get that Marvel spark back. As long as woke lingers, quality films from anywhere are over. The public seems to get it even more than I do.
Disney Marvel have been in a terrible place for some time now, however fans are starting to applaud Disney Marvel again for the recent Deadpool 3 trailer with Deadpool & Wolverine. However they’re still failing in other areas as the Disney president of streaming has quit the company along with others due to how bad Disney and Marvel are performing. So I think it’s too early to praise Disney and Marvel right now, becasue yes Deadpool being great is a start but there is still more work to be done. So fans should keep holding Disney accountable until they make numerous good movies especially in the MCU.
That’s why I got confused that people were getting so excited over the announcement a few years ago. Especially since they were seeing the decline in the MCU. Back in the day this trailer and announcement would’ve had me bouncing off the walls with excitement. Now I feel nothing for the MCU. You’ve got Christian Bale in ‘Love and Thunder’? Great but I still won’t watch it because of Lady Thor. Even if Tom Hiddleston had came back as Loki for a cameo I wouldn’t be excited. That was why I got hesitant with ‘No-Way Home’ until I heard for absolutely certain that they weren’t going to crap all over Toby and Andrew’s Spidys.
Also, Miss Swift as Dazzler? I like Taylor as a artist but…even I’m laughing at the idea of that.
I don’t know how it gets better, because these petulant subversives are SO ingrained, have SO much power at this point, they will never let go.
We will never just get a good marvel movie and have them think “Oh ok, this is what they want, you can have your sperate piece.”
These people are more ravenous than ever, they are more threatened than ever, and like a cornered animal they’re just looking to claw and bite at anything that moves.
The world is one giant damned powder keg right now, and they refuse to compromise, refuse to grow and learn from any of this. They’re all doubling down on all the decay and hate they have sown over the past several years.
I have REALLY mixed feelings about Deapool 3. Part of me wants to see Disney die, part of me wants to just see the dead horse be buried with what little respect it has left.
But part of me watched that trailer and saw everything they have destroyed shining like a glorious testosterone filled beacon of fun and awesome writing and acting and it’s just so nice to see we are capable of making kick ass shit still. That human spirit to make awesome stories and entertain still burns within us, even though these fuck heads endeavor to smother it year after year as they smear thier garbage over every orifice of our world.
I’m probably going to go see it :P. You gotta support good shit when you can, don’t let their nihilism kill what little good is left. Going to try to be happy no matter what. If it underperforms, good, accelerate. If it breaks the bank, it’ll be another Top Gun: Maverick moment. There WAS some surface level wokeness in the sense subversives will watch that trailer and think to themselves, “I can support this movie without feeling as though I’m funding the patriarchy” and that’s about as good as we’re going to get from Disney these days.
Will they be able to help themselves, and restrain themselves from having some stupid lines about intersectionality or modern politics? 100% no fucking way. BUT it’s a Deadpool movie and i’m sure they’ll be smart enough to phrase these jokes that you can take it either way, unfortunately that’s all we can hope for these days. Hints of wokeness that hopefully doesn’t make the entire entrée taste like shit.
Wasn’t impressed with the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer.
The fact that they threw cussing in there to generate buzz raises suspicions about the quality of the film.
Kind of agree about the cussing and the jokes about cocaine. Not your daddy’s cocaine anymore. These days, it is laced with Fentanyl. The former CEO of Youtube, Susan Wojicki, her son died of an OD. When these rappers brag about taking pills and stuff, a lot of people are not going to get any second chances.
Anyway, this is a French animation that claims to be anime, but I will post it here because some people seem to flip out about it. https://www.theverge.com/24146379/mars-express-review-animated-sci-fi-gkids
In 2200, private detective Aline Ruby and her android partner Carlos Rivera are hired by a wealthy businessman to track down a notorious hacker. On Mars, they descend deep into the underbelly of the planet’s capital city where they uncover a darker story of brain farms, corruption, and a missing girl who holds a secret about the robots that threatens to change the face of the universe.
If it weren’t for Antony Starr I’d have given up on this after Season 2.
The first look at Megalopolis has been revealed via a new trailer. The upcoming movie is a long-gestating work from legendary director Francis Ford Coppola, whose last movie was 2011’s Twixt. The project, on which the filmmaker has spent more than $100 million of his own money, is an original science fiction movie that will follow the drama surrounding attempts to rebuild a city that has been destroyed by a major disaster and boasts an ensemble cast that includes Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman, Talia Shire, and Dustin Hoffman.
“The story would take place in a somewhat stylized New York City, portrayed as the center of the power of the world, and Cicero would be the mayor during a time of great financial upheaval, such as the financial crisis under former Mayor Dinkins,” the director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now wrote to explain the 40-year evolution of his Megalopolis script.
“Cesar, in turn, would be a master builder, a great architect, designer, and scientist combining elements of Robert Moses, as portrayed in the brilliant biography The Power Broker, with architects like Frank Lloyd Wright, Raymond Loewy, Norman Bel Geddes, or Walter Gropius.”
We don’t see any of that in the clip, which shows a black-clad Driver stepping off the edge of a domed skyscraper and then seemingly stopping time. Those who attended an April screening in Los Angeles might have more insight into how the teaser might play into the final film, in which Driver’s character—an architect intent on rebuilding a ruined city—goes up against a corrupt mayor (Esposito) who prefers the status quo.

Saw the “Final” Alien: Romulus trailer. There are some good shots but a lot of the CGI looks very artificial. Methinks it gives away the plot as well…bummer.
This looks interesting.
