Latency looks interesting.
When Hana (Sasha Luss), a professional gamer who suffers from acute agoraphobia, is asked to trial sophisticated new gaming equipment which uses AI to interpret the electrical activity of her brain, she sees an opportunity to enhance her game. As Hana and her best friend Jen (Alexis Ren) experiment with this new technology, the line between reality and Hana’s subconscious quickly begins to blur and she starts to wonder if the device is helping her or serving a more sinister force.
Here’s another teaser trailer. Weird to see Lawrence Fishburne on cam again. I get bitter watching things like this. That Art Decco style was supposed to be real American vision, that we were capitalists and industrialists. Before the shysters got a hold and ruined our cities and demographics. Also, amusing a bit to see FFC have 10K followers. Makes me chuckle, cuz he’s a legend. It’s endearing.

Our new film MEGALOPOLIS is the best work I’ve ever had the privilege to preside over.

The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power – Official Teaser Trailer | Prime Video
Prime Video
Darkness will bind them. The Rings Of Power returns August 29 on Prime Video.
Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season 1’s epic scope and ambition, Season 2 of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.
Another trailer from today.
Interesting.
HOTD clearly drawing the lance for ROP. Open and flagrant challenge to competition.
Tit for Tat.
Honestly the RoP trailer isn’t that bad, it just doesn’t impress as a genuine Tolkien product.
But it pales in comparison to that HBO trailer. Still holding out until the series is finished though…I just don’t trust ’em.
Dune: Rise of the Feminists
Valya Harkonnen was a good character, but she comes from the prequels by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson. I did like aspects of those prequel books. Some fans said The Butlerian Jihad about Humans vs Ai is perfect for the times we are living in.
Not sure if I like the casting, as she looks so plain, but understandable. Was hoping they would get the teams from Warrior Nun and Motherland: Fort Salem, as those 2 IPs did a fairly good job at the sisterhood angle.
Next one is for girls, but isn’t everything now? Didn’t Marvel and Star Wars say something like that their products were NOT for white men? This is why Tuna’s feedback is kind of correct. What really is for us? FNT and crew at least, but I think psychologically, most have excepted to gender swap and race swap everything.
Anyway, I like the flying monkeys.
After two decades as one of the most beloved and enduring musicals on the stage, Wicked makes its long-awaited journey to the big screen as a spectacular, generation-defining cinematic event this holiday season.
Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, stars Emmy, Grammy and Tony winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Broadway’s The Color Purple) as Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, and Grammy-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart.
The two meet as students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz and forge an unlikely but profound friendship. Following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths. Glinda’s unflinching desire for popularity sees her seduced by power, while Elphaba’s determination to remain true to herself, and to those around her, will have unexpected and shocking consequences on her future. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
The film also stars Oscar® winner Michelle Yeoh as Shiz University’s regal headmistress Madame Morrible; Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Fellow Travelers) as Fiyero, a roguish and carefree prince; Tony nominee Ethan Slater (Broadway’s Spongebob Squarepants, Fosse/Verdon) as Boq, an altruistic Munchkin student; Marissa Bode in her feature-film debut as Nessarose, Elphaba’s favored sister; and pop culture icon Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz.
The cast of characters includes Pfannee and ShenShen, two conniving compatriots of Glinda played by Emmy nominee Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live) and Bronwyn James (Harlots), and a new character created for the film, Miss Coddle, played by Tony nominee Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman).
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights), Wicked is the first chapter of a two-part immersive, cultural celebration. Wicked Part Two is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 26, 2025.
Wicked is produced by Marc Platt (La La Land, The Little Mermaid), whose films, television shows and stage productions have earned a combined 46 Oscar® nominations, 58 Emmy nominations and 36 Tony nominations, and by multiple Tony winner David Stone (Kimberly Akimbo, Next to Normal), with whom Platt produced the blockbuster Wicked stage musical. The executive producers are David Nicksay, Stephen Schwartz and Jared LeBoff.
Based on the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is adapted for the screen by the stage production’s book writer Winnie Holzman and by legendary Grammy and Oscar® winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.
Aaaand another musical I like ruined by current day Hollywood (the other one being ‘Cats’ despite me liking half the cast in that but that film was a eyesore). Last musical I liked that Hollywood HADN’T ruined was ‘Phantom of the Opera’ which was done…HOW THE HELL HAS IT BEEN 20 YEARS????
@DragonLady Not ribbing you with it. I think it looks ok. Overproduced was the word Chris Gore used. Pray for his health, btw. He had a stroke. Gotta be careful, because Wicked is growing on me. I never saw the Broadway, but it definitely looked good. Never got into the book but perused it. Tbh, the story looks good. Overall, I’m impressed. It does enough to earn a watch from the public.
They made me laugh when they said Wicked is a Part 1, so there will be a part 2, and it might even be a trilogy?
Never saw Cats and Cats was always weird, but I did like the music. One of the best ballads ever written. Also, despite not seeing it, I like that Steven McCrae from the Royal Opera House danced a number in Cats. Wish Hollywood would have used him for more numbers and cameos. I kind of thought that he should’ve been the new BeetleJuice because of how he moves. No disrespect to Keaton, as I watched The Founder again the other day, and he was so good.
Like I said, never saw it.
The other thing Chris Gore and Gary mentioned was The Wiz. Now, that’s one I REALLY regret not seeing growing up. Don’t know how I missed it. I kind of feel deprived. I still have not seen it, but grew up with MJ and his career. Missed out on a memory.
As I said before, I enjoyed the ‘Wicked’ book and the sequel wasn’t too bad. I’ve only got the original Broadway cast soundtrack to ‘Wicked’ but have never seen the stage show but was always interested in a film version of it…until now sadly. Been wanting to see the stage version for 20 years.
As for ‘Cats’, I’m even hesitant at the idea of Taylor Swift singing ‘Memory’ as much as I like her as a artist but I’m not sure her vocal chords are up for it lol. Sarah Brightman is a tough act to follow hitting the high notes. Then again so is Idina Menzel (originally on ‘Wicked’). Good luck to this lady trying to sing ‘Defying Gravity’ the way Idina did; she’s gonna need it (and I wondered why Elsa’s voice sounded familiar on ‘Frozen’ lol).
Oddly enough, I did have Diana Ross on this morning but not to do with ‘The Wiz’ LOL!
Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.
A Sacrifice is an emotionally turbulent story that follows American social psychologist Ben Monroe (Eric Bana) who is investigating a local Berlin cult connected to disturbing events. While he immerses himself in his work, his rebellious teenage daughter, Mazzy (Sadie Sink), becomes embroiled with a mysterious local boy who introduces her to the city’s underground party scene. As their two worlds head toward a dangerous intersection, Ben will need to race against the clock in order to save his daughter.
Based on a true story, The American follows one of the select few Americans, Joy Womack (Talia Ryder), to be admitted into the prestigious, but punishing, Russian Bolshoi Ballet School, where she is tutored by the vaunted Tatiyana Volkova (Diane Kruger).
FRANK MILLER: AMERICAN GENIUS explores the near half-century career of Frank Miller, the legendary comic book artist and writer, and features interviews and cameos from his admirers, students, and collaborators, including Neal Adams, Robert Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Jim Lee, Zack Snyder, Stan Lee, and more. The film was produced, written and directed by Silenn Thomas for Frank Miller Ink.
I might start following Glenn Powell’s career. Seems like a good actor. This trailer though, not sure about it. Reminds me of Breaking Bad only he acts as a Hit Man instead of a drug maker. Inspired by a true story? Maybe. I am skeptical.
Inspired by the unbelievable true story, a strait-laced professor (Glen Powell) uncovers his hidden talent as a fake hit man in undercover police stings. He meets his match in a client (Adria Arjona) who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and mixed-up identities.
From Academy Award-nominated writer/director Richard Linklater and co-written by Glen Powell, HIT MAN comes to select theaters in May and only on Netflix June 7.
Global superstars George Clooney and Brad Pitt team up for the action comedy Wolfs. Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high profile crime. But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up and the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.
I won’t see it, but a movie where Hollywood actors coverup for criminals is redundant. That’s what the media and actors have done time and again. Covering up for Epstein, Weinstein, Fauci, Gates, Clinton, etc.
