    Tokyo Cowboy looks refreshingly original.

The whole multiverse thing has become tiresome now – filmmakers really need to bring something extra to the table when going with that theme. Dark Matter comes across as amateurish but the X-files slant of Outer Range has piqued my interest.

Yeah, writers say the multiverse is a cop-out. I truly enjoyed both shows, but both got more tedious as things went on, and it got a little bit frustrating.

Chris Gore won’t shut up about Mia Goth as an actress. He says if you like 80’s horror, you will like this. I recall people on here saying that they liked her in PEARL, which I never saw. This movie has something to do with an amateur adult film, and the others in it are killed and branded with Satanic symbols.
MaXXXine kind of comes off to me like Traci Lords. In one of the trailers, there is mention of a “night Stalker,” which, as you know, was a serial killer back in the 80s, by the name of Richard Ramirez, but I don’t think there is any relation here. One thing I really liked about that decade was the synthwave music and the fashion that are featured on channels like this one: https://www.youtube.com/@NewRetroWave/videos

I do not often watch horror, but have to say that it’s an incredible genre for low budget creativity and stories.
So, I guess this is the third in a trilogy: Pearl, X, and then, MaXXXine.
X is some kind of adult film horror, which I never saw, but I recall one guy saying that a lot of the whole horror genre had to do with the fear of the sin of sex, which was kind of funny and would make this in the mold of classic horror.

In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.

    @comicsgate

Ooo, I like his channel! Discovered a few modern synth artists on there over the last couple of years.

@DragonLady I wrote a synthwave song about the Whisper Network, how women use apps and private chats and forums to talk gossip and rumors.
    Came out ok. https://suno.com/song/43acebc7-9d02-444a-b95b-6a45c28042a2

The first movie I ever saw in 4DX was Ford vs. Ferrari. Thought I was having a panic attack from the rolling seats and all the sensory immersion, but they toned it down after the opening scene. Normally, it’s pricey, but I also saw Top Gun: Maverick and Gran Turismo in 4DX. I think any movie with Flying or Racing makes 4DX worth it, otherwise, no.

Makes me wonder if they’d ever consider an Isle Of Man movie with racing motorbikes? Another one is maybe do like a Gran Turismo type movie but with the Drone Racing League, so we could get all the tech angles and flying sensations and cam shots from a type of race like that, which might be a good way to promote the DRL. Just thinking of things that would make 4DX worth it for me.

Sadly, I never saw Rush. May have missed out on something there.

    F1 | Official Teaser

Brad Pitt stars in F1, coming to cinemas Summer 2025.

This is one of the things that I HATE about modern film trailers; the horrible music that they always put in them. What happened to putting in a glimpse of the soundtrack??? Besides that, the film looks decent and manly enough…although I guess Pedro forgot what happened the last time he stepped into an arena on ‘Game of Thrones’ lol.

I like Denzel, he’s one of my favourite actors. But he’s been grossly miscast in that movie.

Jermy and Ryan were on it.

Arthur Kwon Lee says if it’s virtue-signaling platitudes over original core message, it will fail.
He says if and when movie flops, Marvel will call you fans racist.

Looks good but…like other recent Disney/Marvel Studios offerings methinks this may be one of those “The trailer is better than the movie” type scenarios.

NOT MY CAPTAIN AMERICA! Falcon is cool but he’s not Capt!

I don’t have Disney Plus, but this got my attention because Riley Gaines just did an Alcatraz swim with the troops. Shook my head at what a challenge that sounded like.

21 miles and a nice day for a swim. Experience the incredible true story
Finally, we get Something. The first Disney movie of 2024, not shown in theaters in Canada and now streaming here on Disney+.
This one’s perfect for the Olympic season based on a true stories in Paris 100 years ago in 1924.
Young Woman and the Sea tells the story of Gertrude Ederle, an American swimming champion, who first won a gold medal at the 1924 Olympic Games. In 1926, Ederle became the first woman to swim 21 miles across the English Channel.

Tries to malign skinheads and fascists when most of that place is probably Islamic now. This is a perfect example of Hollywood being out of touch and pin-headed. I know nothing of Oswald Mosley and had to look him up. Guess they had a character like him in Peaky Blinders, too, which I never saw. All the virtue-signalers caught up in fighting ghost fascism are losing their habitat to invaders. You can see the mass psychosis and the diversion and misdirection by the media.

Anyway, any of you in ANTIFA might really like this one.

Ian McKellen is an acid-tongued theater critic who finds himself in a web of deceit, treachery, and fascism in 1930s London in the new trailer for The Critic. Gemma Arterton and Mark Strong also star in the thriller. The film is set to be released on September 13.

A Different Man: Directed by Aaron Schimberg. With Sebastian Stan, Miles G. Jackson, Patrick Wang, Neal Davidson.

After undergoing surgery for a new start in life, Edward, a man with neurofibromatosis, becomes fixated on another man playing him in a stage production based on Edward’s former life.

“Oh, are you retiring?”…ROFL Ian McKellen is the greatest, I have to see that one!

The whole acid-tongued critic thing, to me, is very much like Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic and others today, so I have always liked that character or the pirate radio DJ character from like Good Morning Vietnam or Pump Up The Volume. They were always portrayed as rebellious, but anyone who works for major media publications is definitely a front and a fraud. No real rebels are working in media conglomerates. Never were.

This next one is shot well. I like masses of people in religion or military or whatever. Not sure about you, there have been so many films where there is fear behind a veneer of religion. There is a really good horror comic book called The Devil Wears My Face that would be good for a single season show or maybe could be condensed into a movie.
