    Do what you’re good at…

    #326420

I don’t really buy into the world war stuff anymore. It’s kind of played out to me, but I’ve always liked Jeremy Piven and I like dance. Always been fascinated by dancing, boxing, wrestling and things like that. Not sure about this one, but surely, how many men can relate to the line he shouts at that guy?
The idea behind this one is good though, just performers that just want to perform and will go to any country that gives them the opportunity. Another one I saw much later, was some lady named Marika Rökk and I think a biopic on her would be good, a dancer under Nazi Germany who lived all over but put out entertainment propaganda dance films.

Chicago, 1936. Harold May (Jeremy Piven) is a gifted but unlucky tap dancer who, along with his troupe, Benny (Adam Garcia), Paul (Isaac Grya) and Carol (Maimie McCoy), are still waiting for their big break. When Harold receives an invitation to perform a series of shows in Budapest, he’s excited – they’re real shows with a real audience. But Benny has big doubts. Harold’s Jewish. Jews are fleeing Europe, not going back, he’s concerned it’s not safe. But with typical American hubris, Harold prides himself on his lifelong ability to pass as a gentile.

I remember that movie Eagle Eye. There was a song called Eye in the Sky. I think we’ve been spied on for a long time. Would be nice to know what they are looking for.

Not into this one that much, but this actor has the Q factor. He reminds me a bit of Wesley Snipes. He has acting chops.

Starring Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, and Julianne Nicholson. Paradise is set in a serene, wealthy community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs and a high stakes investigation unfolds. Stream #ParadiseHulu on January 28.

I like the way the ships look. Very futuristic. A lot of fans barked at the nightclub scene. Agree with that. Would think they would be doing sandworm rodeo or something.

Renaiisance Nerd’s recap was really good. Let it play and was engaged the whole time. In fact, his was the best as I tried to watch others, but they didn’t meet expectations.

Another trailer for Minecraft. I used to like Jack Black, but somewhere along the line, he lost it.

How To Train Your Dragon – In Theaters June 13

From three-time Oscar® nominee and Golden Globe winner Dean DeBlois, the creative visionary behind DreamWorks Animation’s acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, comes a stunning live-action reimagining of the film that launched the beloved franchise.
On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames; The Black Phone, For All Mankind) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated franchise), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society.

With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (BAFTA nominee Nico Parker; Dumbo, The Last of Us) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost; Snow White and the Huntsman, Shaun of the Dead) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding.
As an ancient threat emerges, endangering both Vikings and dragons, Hiccup’s friendship with Toothless becomes the key to forging a new future. Together, they must navigate the delicate path toward peace, soaring beyond the boundaries of their worlds and redefining what it means to be a hero and a leader.

The film also stars Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Gabriel Howell (Bodies), Bronwyn James (Wicked), Harry Trevaldwyn (Smothered), Ruth Codd (The Midnight Club), BAFTA nominee Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Murray McArthur (Game of Thrones).
How to Train Your Dragon is written, produced and directed by DeBlois. It is also produced by three-time Oscar® nominee Marc Platt (Wicked, La La Land) and Emmy winner Adam Siegel (Drive, 2 Guns). How To Train Your Dragon is part of the Filmed For IMAX® Program, which offers filmmakers IMAX® technology to help them deliver the most immersive movie experience to audiences around the world.

Inspired by Cressida Cowell’s New York Times bestselling book series, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon franchise has captivated global audiences, earning four Academy Award® nominations and grossing more than $1.6 billion at the global box-office. Now, through cutting-edge visual effects, DeBlois transforms his beloved animated saga into a breathtaking live-action spectacle, bringing the epic adventures of Hiccup and Toothless to life with jaw-dropping realism as they discover the true meaning of friendship, courage and destiny.

This looks like this Live version of the animated franchise How to train your dragon- Looks like it might be a really good movie in a Live version, but I just hope that it hasn’t got any DEI crap in it or else I would stay clear of it, even though I would certainly like to see it

    #326633

Been a fan of the ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ franchise for twenty years, long before the films came out.  I enjoyed the films a lot and this looks sooooooo much better than any of Disney’s live-action crap. This is coming from someone who’s usually never a massive fan of live action remakes of animated cartoons. My only complaint is that I wish Toothless looked less cute and more realistic live action.

    #326635

That is understandable indeed Dragonlady. Everybody has their genre of films that they like and I have to agree that a small few of the live actions have been quite disappointing because I think some of them could of been done very well if they had, had a much better director whom had better vision of how they wanted the movie to go. I know the one movie series that was done very well was * The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe* *Prince Caspian* and *Narnia-the Voyage of the dawn treader*
