No free upgrade to next gen even though almost EVERY other upcoming game is doing it? 70 FREAKING DOLLARS for the next gen standard edition?? They seriously expect $70 up front for a game that is FAMOUS for microtransactions? Insanity. I know there are a lot of basketball fans out there, but maybe wait for a price drop for this one.
The people that will boycott are people that were never gonna buy it anyway.
When these loot box changes everyone is celebrating goes through everywhere, expect a lot more of this kind of thing from every company.
You’re definitely right. It’s a shame these nasty practices keep getting support.
The pricing is ridiculous. So basically the standard edition isn’t upgradeable, and you get the Mamba Forever edition on one platform and the standard edition on the other? Plus the standard edition on next-gen is $70? I wonder what ludicrousness is this, and I seriously don’t get why they’re doing this, especially when they have microtransactions.
Also slapping in Bryant’s face for marketing a $100 edition is crazy and disgusting. Ugh.
Let’s be real. Kobe would have fully supported his likeness being used in this way.
Very few sports stars have actual integrity and will sellout in any way possible for a buck.
Kobe was no exception and to pretend otherwise because he’s dead is lying to yourself.
I didn’t think sports games could get any worse but I’ve been proven wrong again.
What’s worse about NBA 2K is that the game hasn’t been improved in years, it’s gone the other way.
On top of all this the game has so many issues and bugs that it’s almost unplayable. Now the game costs $70!! I’m completely blown away.
In Australia brand new console games have been priced 89.95 or very big releases are 129.95.
Just had a look and this game is 149.95.
