For a team that should not have been there, they played well against a cup favorite.
Tampa Bay Lightning eliminates Columbus Blue Jackets in game #5, winning the series 4-1.
I wanted them to win in 6. Why does Columbus need to disappoint me?
When was the last time you could name a star or superstar player for columbus?
I had to look thru the current roster, and the only name I had heard/was someway familiar with of was Nick Foligno.
The first name I usually think of is Rick Nash.
I had gone thru a list of all CBJ former players and recognize maybe half-dozen names (mostly from other teams they played with, but not as a CBJ player).
I could not find a player who would be a game changer.
I don’t see them as being a cup contender. Playoff team, yay maybe, but not a cup contender.
Columbus is unfortunately part of that last era where the expansion teams were a pile of garbage and unfortunately they’ve never been able to claw their way out due to a lack of competitive talent. They had it with Panarin last year, which helped them win their first series, but since his departure to the Rangers, they’re back to where they were because they don’t have that scoring talent. I just wanted them to win one more game for my bracket lol.
Boston Bruins eliminates Carolina Hurricanes in game #5, winning the series 4-1.
Colorado Avalanche eliminates Arizona Coyotes in game #5, winning the series 4-1.
Canadiens beat Flyers in Game #5, still trails the series 3-2.
