Has there ever been a game that you think should have been localized in your country? If so what was it?
almost two years have past, and I now see the term localization with disdain.
Why is that?
There are instances in the past regarding anime and video games that undergo censorship for the Western Audience and I dislike it. I don’t want some companies to water down a story for my tastes. I want someone to give me the closest to the same experience as a player that understands the base language of the original release.
In addition, some individuals have made it so some games I have played I am left wondering if I even know the story of the original game at all. Skies of Arcadia is one of my favorite RPGs and after learning how the localizers didn’t really use the main script I wonder if all the story I enjoyed was just non-existent or a lie. Other aspects of games that don’t really reach to a western audience I would prefer to be kept in because it’s just more perspective I want to have rather than cater to my own comfort zone. If I want to be immersed in a world I want it to be that there is as little of outside interference as possible.
