Paul Reubens, actor and comedian who created Pee-wee Herman, dead at 70
Paul Reubens, the actor and comedian best known for playing the eccentric character Pee-wee Herman, is dead at the age of 70, a representative confirmed…
It was his biggest role.
His television series, Pee-wee’s Playhouse, ran for five seasons, earned 22 Emmys and attracted not only children but adults to Saturday morning TV.
So what did he die of?
Reubens died years after being diagnosed with cancer, a fact he hadn’t made public, according to a statement from the representative that was also shared on the performer’s social media.
August 1, 2023 at 4:28 am #303963I saw this yesterday and I was floored he was of that age. I know he got a bad wrap for getting caught in a porn theatre and that did essentially end his career. This shows you how far we have come. A guy that at the time was beloved gets caught at a porn theatre and loses his career and now you can be a fully naked man and shake your junk in front of a child and it’s celebrated.
I digress. I always loved PeeWee when I was a kid. I actually have the series and his movies in my collection.
For those whom do not know Laurence Fishburne got a start on that show and he had another few famous folks on it as well.
There was a PeeWee Christmas special (I have it) and it’s friggen awesome because he has almost everyone on the show whom was famous at the time. It’s a time capsule for that era and interesting to watch. I literally have no idea how they pulled that off.
May the Lord have mercy on you Mr. Ruebens. We all need that.

Sadly, he had a not so nice side.
Reubens’ career was derailed when he was arrested for indecent exposure in an adult movie theater in Sarasota, Florida, the city where he grew up. He was handed a small fine but the damage was incalculable.
Which is the reason for the sudden cancelling of his show/movies, and…
He was arrested again in 2002 and charged with child pornography possession, though the charges were dropped.

Reubens agreed to plead guilty to possessing obscene images of minors.
